I really enjoy the colors you used here. It looks very unusual to use for a face. Like some kind of frozen corpse.Β

I have to think a lot about the picture, especially about the title.

Very well chosen and brilliantly painted, with all the shades on the face and your chosen colors.
They give the picture a lot of depth and heaviness, maybe a bit of melancholy and depression.
The person also reminds me of someone who has given up .....
Well, that's just my imagination and interpretation. I love to think see your works.Β
May I ask you if you are painting the picture first and then the title or vice versa?

I think you've very well understood this work, Pia!! Thanks so kindly for your kind words and support!!!

Often the painting and the title grow together; the title never comes first, that's for sure..

No problem at all! Hehe, I see a lot of old-fashioned things as awesome. I prefer pre-postmodern art more and your style of art is very pre-postmodern. πŸ˜πŸ‘

Probably we all define 'old-fashioned' different

Pre-postmodern mm.?. Can you explain what you exactly mean by it...? Sounds a bit like 'modernism'....

QueenBea-1610 In reply to rollarius55 [2018-01-27 11:31:45 +0000 UTC]

By pre-postmodern art, I mean art before the 1970s. Art movements like Pop Art, Impressionism, Fauvism etc. are pre-postmodern movements. And yes, these artworks fall under the category of β€˜modernism’ as they were art movements which emerged after the invention of the camera. 😁

I got you.. Art beforeΒ  let us say 1960 (and after 1850) had always been my interest
You are up very early this Saturday .. (or is it just very late now?)

Oh yes! Modernist Art Movements interest me more as they varied from each other so much more in a good way. My top five favourite art movements are: Impressionism, Post-Impressionism, Pop Art, Fauvism and Cubism. Hehe, it’s not early here. 😁

Yes, Fauvism is really great!! Love it so much; I consider it as part of expressionism..
So you must live in the West (I suppose) and it's about time to go to bed
