If my parents hadn't snatched my laptop for no effing reason, I would have had this up four days earlier, but noooo...grrr...

This is my OC for Academy of Prodigies [link] as well as my first OC ever. Her background story can be found here [link] .

My favorite part was doing the hair, and the dress, which was referenced from a real Victorian dress. This picture is evidence of just how good I am with eyes/face shapes and how much I ultimately fail at hands and feet. I like arms, though. o.O

Name: Marianne Annabel Blackstone

Age: 14

Time of Birth: (Birthday) 1882 ("Present Day" to her is around 1896.)

Time Period: Late Victorian

Personality: A total bookworm, she loves books and only likes people if she finds them interesting. She loves her family, but they haven't been interesting enough for her. Observant- she notices EVERYTHING- and terribly quiet. Unfortunately, this all makes it easier for her family to ignore her...

Special Skills: Remembers everything she reads, even if it's accidental. Observant of details no one else bothers to notice.

Bio/History: Lives with mother, father, and older brother in the suburbs of an alternative-universe Victorian London. Has two other older brothers, but they have a huge age gap between them, and she doesn't see them much because they work in banks in the city- which makes their father very proud. Her father's a banker and her mother's a hostess-housewife. Her parents are very prim and proper and by the rules, but her brother John still somehow finds time to tease her. That's all right with Marianne, though; she just shuts up and opens a book.

It's her family's highest hopes for her to see her get married to a nice man from a nice family and have lots of nice children. That's all very nice, but she wants to be a librarian. Her father won't hear of it.
