Man, I just love this picture. You have amazing costume designs, but I must confess I think I am very partial to this one (since it's medieval, gorgeous and I absolutely love the colors). Would you mind answering a question? I'm trying to figure out how to make a cloak clasp, similar to the one you have here. Do you know if there's a certain place one can buy them or if not, is there a certain pattern one can use to make them? I'm not even really sure how one ought to go about constructing them.

Soooooorrry that I need so long to answer! I'm really glad you like my medieval cosstumes (wanna do more of them!!!). this one is my favourite, too. The cloak clasp ( a so called Fibel in German ) I bought from a german online shop. I can give you the link if you want. For someone who have some blacksmith abilities it's easy to construct them, but I don't have such scills ^^°°.

Look for repliken and then "Fibel Repliken" and "normale Fibeln" there you find them.

This is a really beutiful costume!
The wide decorative bands combined with the many layers of clothing creates a lot of depth.
Also, the bands make up for the details, and catches your eye to the details.

Using velvet can sometimes become a bit boring, but your edges just calls up all the lustre ifrom the fabric.
All in alll, a great work. Keep it up!

Thank you very much for your extensive comment! When I made the designs for this costume I wasn't sure if I use to many laces or if the vevet is to dominating and not accurate to the pattern but when I finished it I fell in love with it ( velvet is really a complicate material. Like you said sometimes boring, EVER difficult tu work with and you need ne right one, not this cheap velvet for carneval).

Und ja, Männerklamotten sind viiiel bequemer zu tragen . Seh ich genauso. In Kleidern fühl ich mich meistens auch..unwohl. Ich bin zu wenig damenhaft <<.
Das Kostüm ist englisch, zweite Hälfte 14. Jhd. . Der samt im surcot ist gewagt, weil er ja erst ab 1320 etwa das erste Mal in Italien als Kissenbezug aufgetaucht ist, aber als ich den dunkelgrünen in der HAnd hatte konnte ich nicht anderes. Die anderen Stoffe sind Leinen und Brachant (Leinen/Baumwollmix).

Ich war bis jetzt nur einmal durch die Fantasydays auf Satzwey. Bin eher auf Burgen hier in der Ecke unterwegs (Südwestsachsen, bis nach Satzvey fahr ich 6 Stunden Auto v.v, zug noch länger).

Nene, aber wir haben ne gute Freundin in Bonn, die wir manches Mal besuchen. Die Bonner Ecke wär glaub ich meine Wahlheimat, wenn wir hier nicht Grund und boden hätten (Platz für meine Schafe ), grad die eifel und das Siebengebirge sind wunderschön und genial zum fotoschiessen. ausserdem sehen die Leute es viel lockerer, wenn man mal ein Kostüm anhat und fotos macht (hier wird man doch ziemlich vollgepöbelt..sehr nervig)

Thank you! I used velvet and linen for the costume. The trousers are made with wool (in German walk loden..don't know the english word v.v). The borders are brocade (mostly second hand from India via ebay..search for sari laces)

Thank you very much! Yes, the costume was made by me. But it was not so difficult, those old tunics have easy patterns . And thank you for the hair (no wig this time XD)
