Would have to agree with you RomanticGaze about the oddness that was this episode and how much Peridot really had got to show her stuff. Glad to see someone out there recalls this other gem monster here and I love the nice play you throw into everything with how friendly she acts towards Peri.
Given that you usually see the monster gem just stomping on Peridot its good that you added some variety to that. Nice justice too seeing how well you captured the size of her body and that compared to Peri there. You even make the weird tongues nice and large too that better helps add to the rather frozen look on Peridot's face, bravo.
On both characters you capture their looks perfectly and on top of that is your coloring which is another nice layer to the picture here. You carry through some good clean lighting and shadow effects and by all accounts no complaints on that. You can see how the sun is coming down on the both of them but also using your shadows to show the details o the tongues worming their way around on Peridot or even the legs on the monster being a bit rounded. Would say to keep practicing with details like that and even try and use some lighter tones on the skin to really make the skin seem more visual to the light and seem a bit more fleshed out.
BUT, this picture is already pretty damn good and I love the added background work to compliment the desert-like theme for where the episode took place, as small as the background is given how much you zoom in on these two clods. Brilliant work here RomanticGaze , your one talented artist. *nods*
