There are several different versions of him. The most popular two are Luther Manning and Michael Collins. Manning was a white soldier who died and was turned into Deathlok in the future. Collins was a black scientist who worked for Roxxon and accidentally discovered their top secret Deathlok program. Roxxon threw Collins' brain in Deathlok before he could rat out the company. Then they put Collins' brainless human body on ice.
