Description Another one of my original ideas, you've all heard of the Mirage 4000 prototype that Dassualt made right? died eventually due to know customers but I kinda liked how it looked how the 4000 looked so I decided to give it a second chance, anyways on to the usual

the Dassualt Mirage 4000D is a reboot and refining of the old Mirage 4000 design. the jet is designed to be a low cost supplement to the Rafale (a jet which borrowed some features from the 4000). it is a multirole jet like the Mirage 2000D and N, but like them it is also more of a strike jet than a fighter. the plane is designed to go in low and fast, right down on the deck, and hit with little warning by popping up and dropping its weapons. This makes it among the unique fighters of the 21st century that do not utilize stealth. the prototype flew in late 2017 and it began to receive orders in 2019.

Dassualt was not able to get very many sold to the Emmerian AF, which preferred the Rafale, F-16F and F/A-18F. it has had success, however, with smaller countries. As seen here, Ustio (the jet show here being out of Fenrir AFB) operates it next to older EF2000s and see it as a good way to procure modern strike capabilities for a good price.

It would've been nice to see if the 4000 had been mass produced.

True.

The Rafale is superior to this aircraft by far, although I always have liked the Mirages.

yeah, I envisioned it being more like the F-5 and F-20, something that is good enough and easy for smaller nations to get
