Commission forI really like how the background turned out, on this one. The character is fun, too! I don't get the chance to draw many darker skinned characters, so it was a nice piece to work on.

Now that is a hammer worthy of being wielded by the Goddess of Thunder.
It feels like she's fighting a newly come menace and we're seeing her from the menace's point of view... yeah, right on the receiving end of the pain. Almost can hear her shout: TAKE THIS THOU FOUL BEAST FROM HEL!!! Failing that, THOU SHALL NOT PASS, ACCURSED FIEND! Or PREPARE TO TASTE MY HAMMER IN THY FACE! Or... let's leave that to the commissioner.
Looks like the action is just starting and she's already at full steam ahead. And her pose is simply... superb. I checked the pose in front of a mirror while shouting I'M DROPPIN' MAH HAMMUUUUURRR and it is as cool as it is plausible. Just for the record, I also have a hammer, more or less that size (only it is made of wood).
Her bracelets are different from one another. The right one (on top) has interesting things going on it.
Well, I still want my head where it is, so I'll look for... ooh, a tree. I'LL HIDE THERE. SHE'LL NEVER KNOW!!!
On a personal note, I hope you get well soon, man. Here's hoping you can get that tooth problem solved soon.

Sly dog. I see the necklace, it showcases movement very subtly and gives a nice seamless sense of rhythm. Clever man. The cape has a nice healthy gradient, though there's something inside of me saying it could be distracting to the rest of the color scheme. I'm almost positive that voice is wrong and that the cape's color is fine, but I don't know. The contrast is a tad harsh. Bah! I won't worry about it. It's fine. Her warlike expression is incredible and fearsome. I really like the pose. It's so action packed and vigorous. Good piece. Nice job. Well done.
As an aside, you're doing great work, Ray. Keep it up!

I appreciate the well wishes. Tooth is feeling better, but still needs to go. The local surgeon wants $800 per tooth, so I will be going out of area to get it done. Those prices are ridiculous!

I've given you advice before, do you remember? I said to practice every day, and to study photo reference. that's how I got better. Have you been doing photo reference studies?
And don't be scared, I'm just a person, same as you.

Hahahaha No, I did not start out good, I am human, after all! lol
No one starts out good. No one! We all have practiced. The thing is, I enjoyed drawing, whether it was a good drawing or a bad drawing. I had fun drawing crappy art for a long time, and eventually, it became what people call "good".
But I still have a lot to learn, too!
I looked at your drawing! I don't have much to say about it, other than that I hope you are drawing stuff that you enjoy, and if you are, then over time, you will get better.
Just to be clear, when I say do drawing studies of real life photos, I mean like this:

Here is a few of my own photo studies:
See how I have the real photo on the left, and my painting on the right? This is a photo study. In these, we don't copy art, we copy real life. It is hard, but that's why it makes you learn. People are hard to draw, so I suggest starting with simple things, like fruits and veggies, a wrinkled shirt, or a shoe. As you get better at those, work your way up to more complex things, like faces, etc. I recommend you do at least one photo study like this a week, and the rest of the time, draw whatever you want, for fun. Photo studies are like homework. The rest of the time, draw what you want, so you don't get bored by only drawing fruit. lol
When you do photo studies like this, you should post them! That way people can help you by critiquing it and giving advice. It's hard to give useful tips if you don't share your work. Just don't share it if you copied another artist, because that upsets people. Just keep drawing and practicing, and over time, you will get there.
