Thanks man!
That's generally how I do my thumbnail sketches, I just focus on value and shapes, even though they get tweaked a bit by the final. I aught to put together a full process tutorial, because this doesn't go into how I put the final details together. I'd also like to include the references I use for a picture, because I use a lot.

Unfortunately, I didn't grab shots of my coloring process. I'll have to do a more in depth tutorial for my process later.
Glad you like it, though, I hope it helps at least a little!

Awww, so according to #6 she is wearing panties. I was about to envy to that man on the cart for having such an epic sight. (With panties it is still good, but to a much lesser degree).Β

Now why'd you have to go and ruin it by putting clothes on her?

Yeah, ugh, I gotta get back to streaming! I will soon. I was too busy the last month, and I have been sick the last few weeks, so I have no voice! Also been working on commissions too frequently, but I am hoping to pull some balance back onto my life so I can stream more personal work.

Thank you!
Actually, I do a very loose greyscale sketch, for placement and composition, then I do the final lines over the sketch on a new layer. Once I have translated my sketch into a clean drawing, I then start creating separate flat color layers for the characters (skin, hair, outfit-green, outfit-blue, etc).for the background, I sometimes take the greyscale sketch and color over it with an overlay layer, and then combine it so I just have a single solid colored layer for the background, and then I just refine it from there. To finish the character, I shade and refine each color layer, keeping the layer locked so I don't have to worry about coloring outside the lines. At the end, sometimes I add special effects if needed, and refine the overall image. I also occasionally color the lines.
But to answer your question, no, for coloring the character, I usually just slap down the colors I want at a darker tone, and just add highlights as I render each color layer. I can then just adjust the value, hue, and saturation with the slider tools, to make sure it all looks good.
hope that helps!
