Description I finally figured out how to install my old HP PSC 1310 onto my Vista computer (I had help, though). And I was dissapointed that the Photosmart Essentials didn't compare to the old ImageZone I had on my IBM that ran Windows XP. I was, however, able to make similar editions with the InfranViewer app.
Here, Erin Derringer (one of my characters from the Demon Child), consoles a newly found orphaned child she names Koji. As an apprentice of the Hanyo Defense Organization, she was on a training mission. However, due to her recklessness, she became romantically involved with a Japanese immigrant. After one night of passion, she became pregnant. Her asian consort, however, was caught in the crossfire as part of her mission was reconnaissance. Her cover was blown, and she had to make a hasty retreat. When she reported back, she was reprimanded for allowing herself to be distracted by having a romantic affair.
Her pregnancy didn't remain a secret for long. As she endured disciplinary suspension, she witnessed someone being mugged. Despite the fact she was pregnant, she recklessly rushed in to assist. She fought savagely to defend the helpless victim. Unfortunately, a stray kick from the mugger caught her in the abdomen. Blood spattered within her jeans. Fearing the worst, she pleaded to be rushed to the hospital.
2 weeks after her miscarriage, she went AWOL. She drunkenly stumbled through the alleys of San Francisco, mourning the loss of her unborn child. As she was about to curse God, a light appeared above her head. From the disturbance, a small body dropped through, into a dumpster. As the light storm subsided, she slowly stumbled to the dumpster to investigate. Inside was a filth-covered child. Not trusting her senses, she reached inside to feel for the child's face.
Still holding on to the funds from her employers, she checked into a hotel to clean up the young child. As she bathed him (and herself to wash off the filth), the child awakens. At first, he lashes out like a wild animal; clawing and kicking, biting, screaming and growling. Erin struggled to wrestle the little boy down. The child instinctively sank his small fangs into her arm as she tried to hold him down. The struggle came to an end as she turned the child within her arms, placing his face into her bosom. The child's fight turned into sobbing; his thrashing slowed into trembling. Erin held on tightly as she realized that the child was merely frightened. She whispered calmly into his pointed ears; shushing and gently rocking him. As she was sobering up, she thought she heard the child say 'haha.' She knew it was Japanese for mother.
Her scent was enough to calm the frightened Hanyo down. Knowing what little Japanese she could use, she spoke to him, saying that he was safe and that she would not hurt him. She kept on asking for his name, but he never answered. Erin took it upon herself to name the child: Koji.
As she reclined against the stack of pillows at the head of the bed, she brought up her thick, silky thighs to sit the child down to examine him. But Koji was far too exhausted to sit up straight; he collapsed onto her chest. Oddly enough, there was a plush wolf sitting near the foot of the bed. She pulled it forward for the child; hoping he would interact with it as he came to in the hours to come.
She then looked at the pendant that the child was wearing around his neck. The small, golden object bore the crest of the Oda. She suspected the child to belong to the Oda family.
She knew she would have to report back to the agency and face further disciplinary actions, but the new gift of life was worth it. The agency agreed to Erin's request to adopt the orphan.

*Update: rescanned with my older XP ImageZone application, which produces far better scans than what PhotoSmart Essentials did for my Vista computer.

So, Nobunaga...Is this woman Koji's foster mother? She looks beautiful and Koji looks very cute as a little baby boy. That's nice! I like it!

Yep, that is Koji's foster mother (well, in reality the reincarnation of Koji's biological mother). That character is Erin Derringer. Koji's biological mother is a full-blood Erinyes (a type of devil if you go by the Dungeons & Dragons monster manual). In an attempt to preserve Koji's life, Kali the Erinyes matriarch sent Koji forward in time (from the early days of the Edo period) in the hopes that she defeats a demon incursion. Unfortunately, the demons chanced interbreeding with humans in the hopes of creating a net of influence...which would have intercepted Koji even in the distant future. Kali upon realizing this, she sends herself forward in time. Unfortunately, the incantation for summoning a time conduit was interrupted. The conduit did indeed send her forward in time, but not as herself. The conduit dissolved Kali into tenuous energy which eventually found itself into a couple in the late 20th century. Kali wasn't the only one who entered the conduit; a younger Oden named Thor was assigned to protect her in the distant future. Their energies both found themselves into the human couple; ironically, it was the younger Thor who was born first before Kali was...effectively making them brother and sister. Kali was reborn as Erin Derringer, and it was in her adult form where she finally intercepted an infant Koji from a time conduit, although her reincarnated form had none of Kali's memories.

Wow! That's a nice backstory. I like it. Now, I'd like you to describe for me her appearance in detail. I want to know what's her skin and hair and everything including body detail, that way if I decide to color this one next after I do the other, I'd be happy to.

Green eyes, dark red hair (like dark auburn), fair skinned. She's either around the same height as Melissa or maybe an inch shorter. Even in her human form, she's more muscular than Melissa (she's not ripped, though; just a moderate fat layer over the muscle to make her look curvaceous and powerful at the same time, but she's not by any means fat). Her hair is shoulder length by the time the story progresses to Koji's timeline. She has a bigger rack than Melissa does, lol. All around, she appears heavier, like she could physically cripple average guys within seconds.
As far as Kali goes, her skin is on the grayer side of pale, blood-red hair, and the same yellow eyes with blood red halos along the rim of the eye color. If you noticed that Koji has fangs, he inherited them from Kali.

(yep, I have a thing for green eyed ladies)

A tragedy turned around, I like that. Beautiful background story and a beautiful illustration of love and caring.

The wolf plushie's damn cute, too.

I was talking to a lady I haven't spoken to in 12 years. At the moment, I was recovering from my motorcycle accident. Our conversations were very interesting to say the least, but one day, that conversation was cut short as she learned that her son was hospitalized for consuming his (biological) father's meds. In my Vicodin-induced state, I got the impulse to draw the scene I have been visualizing for my Demon Child story. She loved the drawing.

Thanks
I talked to my special friend about it, and she loved it. If you read the update at the bottom of the Artist's Description block, you can see why. I was really worried about her son, and my concern reminded me of my story.
