Silver Reef Utah, October 17, 2022.

Silver Reef was a boom and bust mining town. Established in 1875, it had a mile long main street with all you would expect in a boom town, and then some. But in 1890, there were only about 200 residents and while there continued to be some residents, the town was considered to be abandoned in 1891.

The 1877 Wells Fargo building is still standing and appears to be in good shape (it had been used as a residence for many years), but the other handful buildings that are standing are either restored or rebuilt ones. Mostly there are just ruins and a modern upscale subdivision moving in.

Seeing how my wife needed a walker to get around, I did not wander far from the car.
