Description My first try in photographing the milky way. Was done from the balkony - so there's quite a lot lightpollution and it's almost invisible because of that. Like this shot though.

Postprocessing: Stitched 2 photos, cropping, contrast, sharpness, whitebalance, saturation, layer effects, denoising and some dodging on the milky way.

I think that cropping the homes in the photo might make it look better, but that's your choice

Love the photo, though.

Thanks for your thoughts I tried different styles in cropping, but though it's not looking that good, it's still giving a major foreground to the picture, so I decided to keep it

Glad you like it

A beautiful composition, even when accounting for the light pollution!

I am so curious... did you shoot it with your cam mounted on a timed motor?

Thanks, glad you like it that much

Nope, not much tech involved simple tripod (with a head that you can rotate by 90 degree). one shot for the foreground, tilted upwards manually, then the second shot and stitching with photoshop

I see... your resourcefullness is admirable.

Maybe once I get some more functional equipment, I'll try taking a crack at this.
