By the way, those saguaros are between 10-30 feet tall and are much closer to me than the slag pile. This was shot at 150mm telephoto so the distance is deceptive. I'm standing about 2 miles south of it when shooting this one.

No, not really. It has a long declining ridge on top of an almost circular mound. Here's an aerial so you can see what I mean. [link]

Slag pile is flat thing not as tall as the saguaro cacti or palo verde trees or creosote bushes on the right side and slightly in front of the remaining peak. The peak on the left is the remaining peak of Twin Peaks.

Well you have proof it definitely existed. The peak looks very good against this cloudy background , no need to wait for a clear day.

I'm glad you like it. I just thought it would be nice if you could really see the definition on the remaining peak since it's such a strange shape.

I'm glad you do. It's not very good because of the overcast and dust but I will keep trying so I get a nice clear shot of the missing twin.
