My brain said "What if...general Kestis?" and I obliged with the concept of an alternate, non-Order 66 future where Cal Kestis became a general within the 13th Battalion as a pathfinder company assigned to aid Cordova in unlocking the secrets of the Zeffo.
Really, I just wanted to put Cal in clone armor, and it just came together well.
