It is. This is one of the several moments that my character uses as a milestone for his departure from the city. I may or may not include it in the final draft.

No. Not at all.
New Blood was a contrivance of clumsy wording and horrendous disservice to the original casting of Halo 3 ODST's characters in its entirety, and to this day I still believe that it was just a weak justification as to why Nathan Fillion appeared as a Spartan in Halo 5. You would be better off asking me if I was going to buy a fucking lotto ticket rather than running with that piece of literary shit. Despite some minor improvements upon gameplay that Halo 3 ODST could have had to make it more replayable, its writing, for both the main story and the easter eggs audiolog plot that we were given, stood well enough on its own and should have been left where it was with a sense of accomplishment and optimism that the squad's efforts played an important role in the closure of Human-Covenant war. Instead, what we got was a cheap motivator in the form of the Rookie's death and a Disney-esque mess with Halo 4's great potential and Halo 5's let down, proving that 343 has so far been incapable of doing right by the community and by the original creators.

No not likely. Though my characters may have been in the same location as some canon characters, I try my best to tell fresh stories without having to borrow from Bungie's writing.
