Description
For once I'm not entirely certain about the historical correctness. I was just penciling some militia spearmen from roughly the 13th century when I decided they'd be fighting Norman knights of the late 11th century. The result is this:

"On the right flank of de Montailli's army the spearmen there, who had so far been spared from most combat, found themselves eye to eye with a group of dismounted knights from de Graye. The knights had used the dense shrubbery deemed unpassable by de Montailli' men to advance slowly and silently towards the unspuspecting spearmen, and had unleashed a fearsome warcry upon being spotted, meeting a hastily erected wall of spears and shield with their swords, maces and axes."

Ironically the first guy I drew has a syndrome that made his head too big.
