(Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles vs Mortal Kombat)

Connections:
1.They both originally looked like ninjas.
2.They both are generals.
3.They both work for the main villain, who are tyrannical rulers with iconic helmets, who are even their adopted fathers, even dressing as such, minus their iconic helmet.(The Shredder/Oroku Saki and Shao Khan)
4.Both constantly lose.
5.Both have only wore the helmets once after the main villain dies by a champion of some kind, and they take over.(Shredder dies by Leonardo, making Karai the main villain for a while in 2012 and Shao Khan died in MK3 by Liu Kang, making Reiko have a what if ending in MK4 where he has Shao Khan's helmet)
6.They both weren't in some of the original parts of their franchise(TMNT Comics-The TMNT Going Down In Your Town Tour and MK1-MK Trilogy), but someone bigger who has a similar rank did in the second iteration of their franchise, before becoming more useless throughout the series(Krang in TMNT 1987 and Kintaro in MK2)
7.Their mothers are dead.
8.Something tragic happened to their actual father(Homato Yoshi became a rat do to mutagen and Reiko's father is most likely dead)
9.They both fight with ninja stars and a bladed weapon(tiny sword and a spear)
10.They both fought alongside heroes at some point(Karai sometimes fights by the turtles, & even has a crush on Leonardo and Reiko fought on the Pyramid of Argus on the Armageddon chapter of MK1)
11.They both have a friend with magic powers that they work with(Shinigami and Rain)

Best alt for both, since Elektra and to an extent Roy Burns are the best for Karai and Reiko respectively.
