I haven't addressed Pete's love of Poppy in a long time. I don't want that to be his one defining trait, but it's still something that could make for an interesting drawing every now and again.
I thought it would be funny for him to play a song for her. He's composed a beautiful ballad for her, so he clearly feels that music is a way to win her love. Unfortunately, rather than going with flute, which he's pretty good at playing, he's gone with violin, which he can't even hold properly, let alone play well. Suffice to say, the awful sound that barely passes as "music" is not melting Poppy's heart as much as it is scratching her eardrums.
