so true! sure he acts arrogant and such but he plays fair and shows sportsmanship. i don't think him and Weevil can be even considered minor villains.. they are more just like troublemakers XD
my tops favs would definately be Rex, Joey and Bakura
and thank you kindly! glad you like~

I love this style, but the shading has too much dithering.
It makes it look messy.

well my dithering was of a messy style and was to simulate clothing folds mostly. besides. i don't think you can really have too much dithering sice well dithering is meant to bleand colors together
but i'm glad you you like the style.

True, but their is dithering in places that don't require it.

Im sorry, if I sound like an ass.

the dithering on the hat is because there is a fold there thus needing highlights that need dithering. actualy all of the spots you showed are highlights that needed dithering. so i can't understand why you say there is too much. i just like blending my colors and highlights. pretty much how i like to blend my colors during digital non pixel art.

Look, you said, and I quote.
"There is a fold there thus needing highlights that need dithering"
But, thats not what dithering is used for.
Like you said, its used for blending colour, but your using it to highlight folds ect.
Also, I can understand that you like blending colours, but their is a limit in doing so, before it looks messy.
Unfortunatly, you have passed, said limit.

well when you use hightlight shouldn't you blend them?
and i've already said that my blending style of dithering IS Messy. and real dithering is a strict pattern in wich you place a pixel of the color you want to blend into the other. that would mean i'd have to put it EVERYWHERE where two colors meet. which would mean add even more dithereing to the picture. thus leaving your argument of too much ditehring invalid.
besides. when you blend colors it's to do exactly the oposite of what your saying. blending is to take away the messy. so i think you are fighting a a battle that shuldn't even be fought in the first place. ive never heard of the too much dithering rule for pixel art. the only rules i've heard was it has to be pixels shaded with either cell shading or dithering which can be place either isometricaly or not.

Blending isn't to take away the messiness.
It has nothing to do with that, it is literally just blending colours, to create a mixture.
And If you already know that your blending style is messy, then why not fix it?
"that would mean i'd have to put it EVERYWHERE where two colors meet"
Dithering DOESN'T have to be a strict pattern, so you dont have to do that, especially when it makes your work look messy.
Also, just because their isn't a rule against it, doesnt mean its a good thing.

blending technicali is to take away the messy. not blending would mean would just have large blobs of color with no differing hues or tones.
i don't have to fix it there is nothing wrong with my messy dithering. it's called stylized dithering. which is a completely fine and acceptable shading style for pixel art.
exactly. it doesn't HAVE to be a strict pattern. meaning my messy style or styled dithering is fine. my work doesn't look messy. are you even looking at the actual pixel sized version of the pic? or are just looking at the large version and making your statements from that? hope not 'cause that wasn't the point of the large version.
there's no rule against meaning i'm not doing anything wrong. i think you're saying it isn't a good thing because you just don't like it. it doesn't suit your taste of pixel art. which is fine. can't please everyone. shouldn't mean it's wrong.

I do like the actual pixel art.
I'm also no asking you to change the style, all I said was that it looks messy, which it does.
And you are the one that Dither should follow a strict pattern.
If thats how you like your dithering, thats fine by me.
I was just stating me opinion.
Also, blending is NOT at all to take away the messiness.
It IS to blend colors.
"not blending would mean would just have large blobs of color with no differing hues or tones."
That depends on how you blend.
Also, thanks you. I haven't had a debate this good in a long time.
You actually know what your talking about (Kinda)

but it doesn't look messy. it looks blended. as you can see in the actual sized one 8T it's not as super crisp as it would have been had i've been using the basic strict pattern of dithering (checkerboard or just a repeated pattern). in all technicalities basic dithering does follow a strict pattern. but as i said before i used a stylized dithering. which consists of random pixels that spread out from my shadows and highlists.
well in a way blending does take away messyness. lets say you decided to block out your shades really roughly. blending them together will make the picture look alot less messy and more smooth. but yes it does allow to create other tones and hues.
also when i said my shading style s messy i meant it is made of randomly placed pixel with no order or set rule not messy as in not clean or professional.

Well yes, blending can also be used to take away the messiness.
It just depends on how you use it.
I know full well what dithering is.
Also, IMO it looks messy, but thats just my opinion.
