in trepidation, with hesitancy,(only for his pleasure,
no more, no less.)
Egret will now display, with unspoken thought,
her unparalleled love and trust,
through her slender build, her intriguing assets.
her alluring gestures, though unpracticed,
disguise as a silent plea, to earn his unblemished passion.
(only for his pleasure,
no more, no less.)
his gentle approval, an indication of wholesome love -
Egret would stop at nothing for a trace of this.
no matter the circumstance; no matter the expense,
in spite of what would soon become wasted -
his looming love melted like sugar upon the tongue.
his every want was her command
(Egret's feathers fall in duplicates;
duplicates and triplicates)
though his vow of love was fleeting,
she was used to that sort of thing.
(Egret's spirit is battered and bruised,
but it was only for his pleasure,
no more, no less.)
