Description Works in Progress-> [link]

I've been dying to do some AC:ll fan art digitally. I've done quite a bit in my sketchbook- but nothing I've posted on here. I also felt somewhat guilty- because I did post quite a bit of Dragon Age Fanart... and drew a bit more of it in my sketchbook.

This wasn't intended to be EzioxLeonardo in anyway, but you see what you see. I got the DLC for the game, but due to circumstances I haven't played it all the way through yet. Yet. So when I heard Leonardo went missing- a scene similar to this popped into my brain.

Notice the small blur in the background? Download to see it!

Aaaaaabsolutely gorgeous, Rose! I can't imagine how long this probably took you The detail in this is just amazing, and I spent a good five minutes in the downloaded version looking at all the close-ups. The horses' faces are especially beautiful. That silver buckskin (?) Is extremely lovely, and his pose is very dynamic. Your people are also very well done! They look very natural in the saddle, and there's plenty of movement to them with their capes flapping in the wind. Gorgeous job, Rose. I've never played AC, but I definitely still appreciate this artwork of it

With the interruptions... about a week and a half, without... somewhere around 5-6 days.

Yeah... I have no idea what that horse's color is, all I know is that I colored it that way, and it ended up being pretty! I loved working on their eyes actually. It was an attempt at making them a bit more realistic than I usually do, and it almost gave them this carousel horse look.
I was afraid to of them being too stiff in the saddle. If there's one thing I have problems with it's drawing people, adding them to riding something it's like... what do I do?!

You'll love AC as much as you love DA if you play it! Which you should!

Wow, I wish I had the patience to work on something that many days in a row I've really been wanting to play AC....and DA...I'm so game deprived!

Stunning work! The detail in the tack, costumes and horses is so immaculate. I love the poses of the horses too and the gorgeous gleaming highlights. I'm a big fan of AC (only played the first one so far) so this really made my day <3

That is awesome! You'll adore the other games when you get them. Unfortunately it's a bit of a shock to my system to play AC again, because the graphics only get better as the new games come out and going back is like "Whoa! What happened? Is Altair colorblind? What do you MEAN I Can't Swim!?" I can't wait for Revelations!

I just saw the WIP ^^ It's fun to see your process, it's so different from how I'm used to thinking with traditional media.
Also, I just noticed how lovely the sky is in this painting. The background details musr have taken ages!

I adore your traditional. It's so interesting to find that the techniques you can use traditionally are occasionally opposite of what you do digitally- and then there are the techniques that do wonders with both.

I was aiming for a dusk/sunset look- and when I worked on the horses I was afraid that they'd be too dark, or too light if I added an orange glow to the front of them for the sunset look.

Btw, how do the horses in AC2 and Brotherhood compare to AC1? I heard they re-did the cantering animation so they didn't run so much like rocking horses anymore XD

They're still a little off- to me at least, but yeah it's been fixed.
They also don't change coloring between cities. Which means you have to go searching for the right color if you want to. I feel like the ones in AC: Brotherhood lost their coloring touch- because you don't see as many variations. You get brown, black, this palomino/silver buckskin color, white-grey, the brown/black rouncey(guards ride them), and the guard's metal covered destrier that only comes in grey-white. In AC2 the colors have a bigger variety, but horses still aren't allowed in towns.
On the Xbox version for Brotherhood they took away the gallop option, it was replaced with the ability to stand and jump off your horse's back. In the PC version- it was given back and I think they use something different to do the equivalent of jumping off your horse onto another horse. Horses are used in towns however

I was always bothered by the weird colours in AC1, I'm mainly thinking of those horses with white almost going up to very top of their legs. I mean wtf, is that meant to be 'stockings'? XD
NO GALLOP? I NEED GALLOP.

AC2 had gallop, no worries.. Although besides Tuscany- there isn't much to ride around. That said- You'd still love Brotherhood. The PC version DOES have gallop

Very true!
I know it's not what you were going for, but it actually feels like early dawn to me, because the horizon is a little misty like you see in fields when all the morning dew is evaporating. And with that in my mind, I think the shading feels appropriate

Well it's basically whatever the viewers see. I'm personally not a big fan of EzioxLeonardo, but if someone chooses to see it like that- then who am I to really argue that point?

I love how in the second and (mostly)third game day and night actually occur so you can see the details they put in the fields of Rome.

lol video game slash. I'll never understand how people can take these characters so seriously when they only have so many minutes of dialogue in which to undergo character development I guess it's all about imagination.
Wow day/night sounds awesome. I want to get AC2 but can't seem to find it anywhere for PC! I only see Brotherhood in the stores.

Leonardo Da Vinci is awesome. Dude.. if he wasn't supposedly homosexual I would luffles him to death- despite the fact that he's already dead in rl. The minute you see Leonardo he just makes you want to giggle with his happy-go-lucky attitude.

Online would be your best bet truthfully.

Nope. It was considered sodomy- which is an offense by death. >.> Poor Leonardo. He actually got accused of it once, but with no witnesses or proof, he was set free.

Yeah nope. I actually took the time research a bit about Leonardo. I'm just that crazy

I'm quite sad that only.. around 15 of his paintings are still around today. Considering that all he did was invent and work on his art through out his entire life... that's not much- ya know?
