Napping during the daylight, when it's warm out, was certainly messing with Splendid's normal sleeping schedule. She'd been waking up frequently late at night with too much energy while others were nestled in close sleeping away the cold night. Though, the random bouts of energy might've been a sign she was coming into season soon, she paid it no mind, instead choosing to use her energy to stretch out legs, become more familiar with that area. It was a bit of an effort sneaking away from the group for midnight strolls, knowing just how diligent the herd leaders were and that they were rather in the open on such a clear night. It was an accomplishment in itself that the golden roan mare could sneak away from the ever watchful eyes at all.

That night they'd gone a bit through the forest and away from the lower valley, more towards a clearing up near the mountains. The moon was high in the sky by the time she saw the figure on the hill, and using the skills she'd learned so far from being out there always on the run in the wild, she quietly found herself in the presence of one of the wild stallions. She could hear other horses a little higher up on the mountainside, likely his herd. He likely had come to see how close their herd had gotten to his.

He was interesting, intense. All of the other horses she'd been with, not counting their leaders, had little to no wild experience, tamer personalities. She'd approached him slowly, curious but cautious.
He was truly wild, different, but the same as them. This was his life, no handler, no humans. Their breath hung in the air as they introduced and greeted each other.

She hoped this wouldn't the only night she'd get close to the speckled stallion, but every day and night was a surprise.
