Description "My father has many sons. I merely the youngest. There are those far worse than I." -Tah'Lohet to Yrian.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Aephier is the eldest son of Tah'Dajo, or Et'Treho, and in the world known as Het'Kari ("world of prayer" though the full name means "the world we prayed for") he is the god of shadows. In truth, he would very likely be the god of shadows in place of his younger cousin on Het'Jeliah (Terra Fera) had that world ever known him at his full strength. Aephier is the first shadow master, the first being to use and control shadow magic properly. He was half-god and half-dragon, his mother being the daughter of Eit'Tara and loyal lieutenant of his father. Both Eit'Tara and the Dark Goddess would try to pull Aephier to their side, but he refused to serve either evil. While Aephier loved his father, he did not understand why all the gods in the heavens deserved Tah'Dajo's hatred. He served at his father's side only for a time before he sought his own path, one at the side of the gods. Aephier managed to pledge himself to Dara's service, gaining a place in the heavens for himself and in return becoming a guardian of the afterlife. He despises necromancers and any others who would use the dead for their own purposes. After Tah'Dajo was reconciled with the other gods, Aephier was also reconciled with his father. As Tah'Dajo is responsible for the punishment of the dead, and Aephier for guarding the dead, they work closely with one another. On Het'Jeliah, his presence is so little understood that over time he was forgotten, and his role as a god was merged with his father's.

On Het'Kari, however, Aephier became much more prominent. Aephier briefly ruled as a god-king over the ancient Nadarian region, his rule spanning much of a continent. This occurred in the earliest history of Het'Kari, when a powerful lich tried to achieve godhood and began taking over. Aephier would not stand for it, and so left Moaehetur and his place as guardian of the afterlife to face the lich and their necromancers. The Nardarian people were the first to be freed by Aephier, as he cleansed their lands of the undead. They began to worship him as their god and follow him as their king. With his growing army of followers, Aephier quickly rid the world of the lich and undead plague. He only ruled as king of the ancient Nardarians for a century before retreating back to the heavens. The Nardarians were later conquered by a foreign people. These people did not view Aephier so kindly, believing him to be a consumer of souls. Interestingly enough, these new Nardarians worshiped Tah'Dajo as their chief deity, so they respected those who claimed to be Aephier and thus Tah'Dajo's descendants, but they fear Aephier himself. Modern legends of Aephier say he is both protector of the dead, but also consumes the souls of the wicked.

-Aephier is likely the main reason the influence of his younger brother, Tah'Lohet, has not spread to Het'Kari. Dragons of Het'Kari are not too aware of the Great Prince of Dragons, one of Tah'Lohet's aliases. It is uncertain if Aephier has similar abilities to Tah'Lohet or not.
-Aephier had a son with a Nardarian woman (likely a dragon in truth) and that son became the next king of the ancient Nardarians. When the region was conquered, the new rulers did not really displaced the old culture and people. Instead, they integrated their two cultures into one. Aephier's grandson was king at the time, and became more or less a minor king under the emperor.
-Aephier's hatred of the undead is something also seen in Tah'Lohet, his younger half-brother. Both of them have the ability to cleanse lands of undead and other evils if they so choose to. Tah'Lohet did this on Terra Fera with the Mianmoae River, which is dark because his blood stained it black with his magic. On Het'Kari, there is a small lake that has water with very similar effects that is believed to be made by Aephier in a similar fashion. The lake is called "Aephier's Tear" in honor of said legend.
-Aephier noticeably looks a lot like a blood dragon, which is due to the fact blood dragons look like Tah'Lohet's draconic form. The two half-brothers understandably have some visual similarities. Some Nardarians believe he is actually the origin of blood dragons on Het'Kari, but in truth the blood dragons of Het'Kari simply came from Terra Fera.
-Aephier may be canon to the TF stories, but obviously with very different lore.
