I love how their relationship is completely low key but obvious.
Phoebe, of course, is an interesting race study all by herself. Her surname indicates Scandinavian ancestry along the male line, her paternal grandmother at the least must have been Japanese, and her mom's thoroughly Kentuckian; not sure what ethnic background is prevalent there other than "white". (I like her parents. They seem like lovely people.)
