Description I don't know; draw your own conclusion about this. I was just sketching and I thought it was an interesting idea. For those of you who watch my site, I think that yes this is my characters Cosette and Biest. If you don't know who those guys are, don't worry about it.

I think honestly I had some kind of Cocteau visual in my mind mixed with a kind of puritanical Dutch aesthetic. Though, I suppose that all the pearls and frills kind of undermined all that. Ahhhh well, I should have known that Cocteau French frilliness and Dutch, black and white puritanicalism kind of cancel each other out.

Yeahhhh, this really isn't cannon either. This was just kind of fun

Cosette and Biest belong to me, that's about it. I'd love to hear how you guys interpret this since there isn't really a story behind it.

It does have a Cocteau feel to it. I've only seen pictures of it, but not the film.

Thank you very much, it's a wonderful film imho, quite breathtaking, albeit strange at first in comparison to modern films. I think it's up on YouTube actually, but it is usually a difficult film to find.

Biest: *in pouty voice* the other figments of Laura's imagination were picking on me again.

Cosette: *in frighteningly calm voice* Well then we shall just have to teach them some manners. *pulls dagger from sleeve*

Biest: ... wut? *back away slowly*

yupyup... that's what happened.

This is really cool. It matched my childhood image of beauty, which is neat. Beauty's face looks kind of cold in this picture, not afriad, and dark as it might be, I imagine her saying, "The only thing I have control over anymore is my own life," holding the dagger, her last choice. Biest is behind her, having just trussed her up in pretty things to make her happy to be near him as he is to be near her, not yet seeing her dagger, or her resigned despair.

That seems to be a pretty popular sort of interpretation

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 0

CrazyMissDaisy [2008-07-26 13:34:20 +0000 UTC]

Im thinking that Biest tries to give her beautyfull garnets thinking it will make her happy. He falls in love with her and suffers from guilt of being her master. I think he might say something like "you look beautyfull" and she has a snappy comeback, with a voice dripping with hatred, something like "Yes we are quite the pair, Beauty and the Beast - to bad you dont turn into a handsome prince" or something. He gets hurt but says he understand her, and while he is talking she takes the dagger from her sleeve hoping to escape.

Cosette is quite the little vindictive one there. Wonerfully dramatic though That's a neat idea.

Thrilling, slightly unnerving,
but I'm begging for more

Intresting piece, maybe it's the way Biest believes the (only) way they're relationship could go (he's wrong, but that's beyond the point for this interpretation). Her being beautifull and overwelmed, him in the shadows like a demon possing her sole.

But these are all first impressions and quirks of my mind,
no idea what other people might think up.

But it's very cool, anyhow.

Was just looking at it realising I missed the dagger in Cosette's hand completely .... :S
So the monologue above is 'dagger-less', sorry.

Warning: More rambling!
My brain is having wave after wave. Sorry for spamming.

Interpretation:
Maybe Cosette wanted to try a risky methode of escaping?(Killing Biest and making a run for it)
She is rash and impulsive(although I not sure if she'd do such a thing), but Biest is being very friendly to her now. And the next picture he grabs her dagger and she looks embarassed (or Cosette decides not to pursue her plan. I like the latter better.)

Does it show that I like making stuff up?

If you've read this far, I take my hat of to you.
