Great job! I'm the same way with shading. I'm often worried I'm not aggressive enough with it, but I'd say it's a valid approach.

Thanks very much! The hair, umm well I did it line by line then I filled in certain areas with a darker pencil to make it less flat looking, added a few flyaways so it doesn't look so '

Yeah, I only like my charcoals on rougher paper like newsprint. Then for detail work I have to cover the whole page then erase to make my image. I've finally posted some if you'd like to see. I appreciate other artist's opinions
