Description Here's Cole! My first male Inquisition companion?
He was a lot of fun to paint and probably one of my favourite DA paintings so far (along with Sera), funnily enough, also one of the quickest to do (also along with Sera!). This took around 3 hours

He's one of the characters I'm most looking forward to seeing in Inquisition, I've just started reading Asunder and his character is very intriguing (please no book spoilers!)

Trying to decide who to paint next... I'm leaning towards Dorian or Blackwall... but who knows! I may have less and less time to paint this coming month as I'm getting married in about 4 weeks but hopefully I can still make time to paint most evenings *fingers crossed* painting keeps me sane through all the wedding madness!

Hehe thanks it's difficult capturing a character you don't know very well but I'm about a third of the way through reading Asunder and his character comes across as quite sad and lonely it'll be fun to do some more Inquisition portraits when the game comes out and we get to know the characters more!
PS. Thanks for the fave too!

Tis true But from the little I know of him, I think you're on the right track... I would be very interested to see you come back to Cole once the game is out and when you finish the book to see how you view him.. It would be neat to see the now, the end of the book and then after the game.  I hope you'll do more of him later on

Oh, you're welcome, it is well deserved.. I really like this

That's a pretty good idea, doing 3 versions! I'm sure I'll come back to him, he was one of my faves to paint! No doubt I'll be doing more of the others too!

I think it will be really neat to see

You did such a great job on him! I'm envious! I have such a hard time just trying to figure out how to shade my own character... So glad I saw this... now I'll have to watch to see more

Thanks so much for the watch!
ah, don't be envious! All it takes is time/patience and practice!
to be honest shading and stuff only really clicked for me in the past couple of years! Though I'm still no master at it by any means

Ahhh see that patience thing it gets me all the time... I have more of an ADD sense lol start something and another something and can't decide... and well I need sleep a lot since my schedule is so crazy so I haven't been getting anywhere lol... and changing styles/methods in mid pictures and such... not that I have a true method... idk I just fake it as I go lol

haha, yeah I can understand that. The trick is to just concentrate on one aspect at a time... so draw something you're comfortable with and just work on shading or anatomy or composition etc, whatever it is you want to improve... so even if you just draw a circle and then try and shade it to look 3d. When I try new things I like to draw faces/people as that's what I'm most comfortable with so I'm only struggling with one aspect of the art instead of several things and also you'll be quicker at drawing what you know so won't get bored working on it for ages and move on to something else halfway through not perfect advice but hope it helps a little
And don't worry about not having a true method, it's good to change it up too as you discover new things and new ways to do things, in time you'll just naturally settle into something
