And yes I know they're all different ages, just humor me a little.

What I meant was that shot over rode the genetic material of Terry's father completely and permanently ( His parents were intended to be killed, but the assassin couldn't go through with it, later on after that they had another kid). So Matt would also be Bruce's son.

Actually, in total Bruce has 9 children. 6 sons, 3 Adopted 3 Biological; as well as 3 daughters, 2 adopted and 1 Biological.
The boys are Dick Grayson, Jason Todd-Wayne, Timothy Drake-Wayne, Damian Wayne, Terrence McGennis and Mathew McGennis.
The girls are Cassandra Cain, Stephenie Brown and Helena Wayne. Β
(Admittedly Helena, doesn't exist in the same continuity as any of the others besides Dick, and Damian and Jason don't exist in the continuity that Terry and Matt exist in; which is the same as Batman the Animated Series. Those cartoons were aired in the early 90's not long after Jason was killed for being unpopular and soon after Tim was introduced, as such Jason was sorta folded into Tim. The name stayed Tim Drake and the personality was a combination, while the back story was Jason's. Since Damian was introduced after Batman Beyond aired, it's assumed that he wasn't born in that continuity.)

I'll admit that at the time I wrote this post I knew little of Frank Miller's work beyond that it was "dark". I knew of Carie but beyond the fact that she existed, I was rather in the dark, not knowing even her name. I will say that upon becoming more familiar with Miller's work... I sort of wish I hadn't... dark doesn't even begin to describe it. As for Carie herself, although she was the third Robin in her continuity (after Dick and Jason) I don't think she was adopted by Bruce... (I could be wrong) I'm pretty sure neither were Dick or Jason for that matter, in that continuity... I'm not sure that Miller's Bruce is even capable of feeling the kind of affection or concern that would be needed to even think about adopting a child; especially if the way he treated Dick was any indicator. But I digress, Carie was never on my list (if you discount my lack of knowledge on her at the time) because she exists in a separate continuity from main stream (Silver age, Golden Age+All/Main, DCAU) and because I'm fairly certain that Bruce never adopted her. Plus... that Bruce is a major bastard, being his kid wouldn't be an improvement.Β

DC should have given Dick another go at Robin with the New 52 revamp, mainly because during his time as Robin, he had no personality, he had nothing at all that made him stand out aside from his amazing acrobatic skills, flexibility, and athletic prowess. But now after having seen Young Justice, I wouldn't mind seeing a revamps New 52 Batman with Dick Grayson as his Robin and finally having a good team of writers for his Robin role like he should have had back in 1940, this is all opinion based of course, I realize that if they did a complete revamp of Batman with Dick as Robin, we wouldn't be seeing most of the Bat family for a LOOOOOOOOOOONG time.
