I've already been working on a Snape/Hardbroom fic when, this weekend, I had finally got around to seeing "Weirdsister College" (a spinoff to "Worst Witch). It's a very underrated show which includes the mysterious character, Nick Hobbes. At first I was fighting against him being Snape and Hardbroom's son, but...I got hooked. And because of this, I need to rethink the stories a bit more.

With Nick's backstory, it's a working progress, but here's what I got of it:

This has to have began way back in September of 1975; Cackle's Academy was visiting Hogwarts for a couple of months. This leads to Cackle's Constance Hardbroom becoming aquainted with the likes of Severus Snape. Thanks to the match-making of Lily Evans (and the Marauders), Severus and Constance became romantically involved. Often bonding over their potions skills, conjuring up new spells and helping eachother with their homework. However, things would go sour when Constance became disturbed about the Death-Eaters and often spoke out againt their harmful beliefs. An act Mulciber and Avery (two of Snape's "friends") weren't too pleased with.

As a result, they and the other Slytherins tried to get Snape to either get her to convert or leave her. After a bitter argument, Snape and Constance went their seperate ways. The former would regret the decision as his desire to be with the Death-Eaters would lead to the death of his only true friend, Lily Evans in 1981.

A while, September of 1982-1985 (the "Worst Witch" timeline's complicated). Once again, Cackle's was visiting Hogwarts yet again. Same for the now-teachers, Severus and Constance. At first, they were still bitter with eachother. But, by spring, the flame was respark as Constance discovered that Snape was no longer in league with the likes of Dark Magic and Blood Purity. So, she gave him another chance. Even when Cackle's returned to Overblown Castle, Constance and Severus often exchanged letters and saw eachother in extreme privacy. Even after their quiet elopment, things were kept a long-distance due to their respective obligations (save for holidays, of course.). But, as time went on, arguments ensued; how Severus treated pupils and staff alike, both their stubborn and cold personalities getting the better of them and (of course) Constance feeling like she's competing with Lily Evans. The last was the subject of the couple's last fight before their schools reopened after Spring Break. So bad the talk was that, there were talks on divorce.

Couple weeks after that spat, Snape was horrified to learn from Dumbledore and McGonagall that Death-Eaters (Mulciber and Avery) had attacked Cackle's Academy. Thanks to the valiant efforts of Cackle's staff, no one was killed. Yet, Constance had to be taken to St. Mungo's Hospital for treatment. While she would be healed, Constance and Severus were given a shock by the doctor's; news that a baby was on the way.

With the ongoing divorce, threats of Death-Eaters and many more issues, Constance and Severus felt that their family could not reconnect. At least not at that time. And as children need stability, they decided to place their child up for adoption. Even to the sadness of Dumbledore, McGonagall, Miss. Cackle and the couple, themselves. The little boy arrived on December 20th, 1983-1987 and given to Harvey and Elizabeth Hobbes who would name their new son, "Nicholas" (or "Nick" for short.)

So...any thoughts?
