He looks so innocent here. You definitely did well with portraying his fragility at the beginning of the film. I kind of love and hate this movie, if that makes any sense. It's very dreamlike but you definitely see Tommy's internal struggle to come to grips with the insanity that is the human race.

Poor guy

I freaking love this movie and most of that love is because of how adorable Bowie is in it.

Beautiful work... I haven't watched the 'man who fell to earth' as I hear it's sad (I'm not very good with sad), and my mother wont let it in the house (she thought it was terrible, but we have very different tastes in movies, so nya)... but this makes me want to watch it so badly! He looks so beautiful here!

Oh, you have to watch it someday It's not sad like... Titanic-sad, it's more sad because you feel awful for him. But it is an amazing film and really makes you think. Alsohe'ssopretty.

I watched it! Wow, I'm only 14, so there was a lot in there that I probably shouldn't have seen - but it was beautiful. I see why my mum didn't like it, as she doesn't like slow-moving arty films (she's an action woman!) but I think it was done beautifully. And it was sad, but as you said, it's the kind of sad that makes you want to cuddle him and make him feel better. Not the kind that has you in tears as well. AND MY GOD IS HE PRETTY!! Worth it just to see a red-head, skinny, pale skinned, alien nerd look sexy... quite a feat, I must say!

RosieFreakish In reply to Belle332 [2011-04-06 18:43:02 +0000 UTC]

Ohh, I'm glad you saw it! It's fantastic, isn't it? I think you really have to be a fan of that style of film and/or Bowie's face to properly enjoy it, but if that works for you it's perfect. I notice new things every time I watch it. AND YES I just want to hug him. Forever.

Belle332 In reply to RosieFreakish [2011-04-06 22:48:43 +0000 UTC]

Heehee, it truly is. Honestly, I'm not a fan of that style of film, as I found it quite similar to Gone With the Wind (in which I felt physical pain watching)... but it was simply beautiful. Never seen a sci-fi that was actually beautiful

Forever... not love at all~! (<-- why yes, I do quote that when anyone says 'forever') I think I'd love to cuggle him for all eternity. Wow I sound stalkerish!

RosieFreakish In reply to Belle332 [2011-04-07 15:53:59 +0000 UTC]

I know what you mean, it takes more effort, so it really helps when the film itself is actually beautiful.

And hey, if you're going to be a stalker, least you're a Bowie stalker. The best of stalkers. ;D

Indeed! Nothing like a good Bowie stalker...and Jareth stalker, when I see him at conventions.

Haaa, I read your journal XD You must've had a heart attack of sorts. In a couple of months I'm gonna cut and dye my hair all Ziggy Stardust style; here's hoping I turn into a Pied Piper for Bowie-stalkers. ;D

Belle332 In reply to RosieFreakish [2011-04-09 02:32:16 +0000 UTC]

Heehee, the SuperNova one? Or the one about my relationship with dA and morbid obsession with David Bowie? I'll answer as if it were the SuperNova one in which I stalked Jareth: I did... it was truly 'kyaaa' worthy. Especially since was like, BELLE! You might see a Jareth! And I totally didn't think I would... and BAM!!! Jareth!

OH MY GOD DO IT. Seriously. Do it. That would be the GREATEST thing ever. And you'd be able to go to parties with skin tight, colourful full-body suits. DO IT. If I lived in the same country as you (which I somewhat doubt) I would stalk you for sure!!!!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RosieFreakish In reply to Belle332 [2011-04-09 15:38:40 +0000 UTC]

Yeahh, the SuperNova one! Though I just read the dA/Bowie one too. XD You're right; dA can be way superior to Facebook.

I think every Bowie fan SHOULD get Stardust hair, at least once in their lives, just for fun. Aladdin Sane/Ziggy facepaint is a must as well. It's like a pilgrimage. :3 You're in Australia, right? Yeah, I'm in London, England... a bit far for casual stalking

...WHICH IS WHY THE INTERNET WAS BORN

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Belle332 In reply to RosieFreakish [2011-04-10 02:30:52 +0000 UTC]

It can indeed... though, I guess my fave part about dA is that you can meet new people from across the world - whereas Facebook is all about keeping in touch with people you already know... I like making interwebsie friends. :3

They definitely should! I would - except I kind of worship my hair and could never bear to cut it. Yes, I'm a tad bit vain, but hey! It's taken me 14 years to grow (never cut it).I definitely plan to dye it red, though, and poof out the front to look like Ziggy's and do the Aladdin Sane makeup. And kick people who call me Lady Gaga. I'll be Ziggy's little sister!

And yes... a little to far for stalking (yup I'm made of convict blood :3), but you might want to check your room for surveillance cameras... that my ninjas may have placed...

RosieFreakish In reply to Belle332 [2011-04-10 23:24:42 +0000 UTC]

TRUE. And me too! I love having online friends, and it's so exciting knowing people from other bits of the world. CAN WE BE INTERWEBSIES

Aah, I know exactly what you mean about your hair, I'm 17 and I pretty much cut my hair for the first time a couple of months ago. I got it really short and dark brown, and since then I've just figured that hair is a toy XD It's wonderful fun to play around with. Oh, god, it hurts when people confuse Bowie with Gaga... XD The worst comment I ever got was '...Did you paint yourself like, a really weird Harry Potter?'

;D Oh those were YOUR cameras, were they? Well, at least I know now.

Belle332 In reply to RosieFreakish [2011-04-11 01:47:51 +0000 UTC]

I know, right? I mean, I love my real world friends, and I'll admit, they are pretty widespread (lol, for some reason I know three people from Germany, and two from Italy) - but GOLLY GOSH. You guys are just... so wonderfully weird you trump hanging out with real world friends on the net ANYDAY! (I hate that word... real. You guys are as real as any friend I have (unless you're a fifty year old pedo, in which case... um... gtg. xD). But I don't have another word to describe them!) AND YESH LET US BE INTERWEBSIES!

Oh, dearie, you are brave! I think the bravest thing I've done, is cut my fringe. It keeps me happy in the hair-cutting department :3. However, my goal in life is to have a fit young man climb up my hair (rapunzel xD), so I may not cut it...
. . . Harry Potter? Are the bloody blind? >.< Nya - people are stupid.

Yup! Wired up to our Australia TV channel ten. And yes, that does mean that the entire country is watching you right now :3

I know exactly what you mean I'm actually going around the USA this summer, meeting all my American interwebsies. It'll take about two months and involve staying in four different states, and I'm never going to have money ever again, but I can't wait. Sometimes people are like 'You should probably get some REAL friends', and I know what they mean, but... they're most mistaken

Hey, it's great when someone has long lovely hair and it stays that way Mine was just looking a bit... pleh. How long is your hair?

HELLOOO AUSTRALIAAA! EXCUSE MY PYJAMAS

AWESOME!!!!! Thats positively the coolest thing EVER! I went to the States and Canada last year for six weeks with my parents for their work... So much fun! Plus, I got to work with the sexiest brit ever (aside from Bowie). Sure... he was married... BUT HE WAS ONLY 20. Nya, america is quite nice. :3 You spending time in the cities or the country side? Or both?

It's just passed my ass, if I might be so blunt.

HIYA LONDON!!! You know, I've always wanted to visit England. London in particular. I fancy I'll meet Dr. Who there and we'll go space and time hopping.

RosieFreakish In reply to Belle332 [2011-04-13 14:04:49 +0000 UTC]

Awesommee, whereabouts did you go?? And who was this sexy Brit? Can we stalk him? I'm staying in... I think it's a little village in Texas, which is the closest I think I'm likely to get to the countryside. Then I think it's like suburbs in Ohio, and then I'm staying in Las Vegas and very close to Seattle. A bit of everything, really XD

XD Fantasticc. My hair used to be that long. It's all swooshy.

Hahahaaa, no way, are you a Doctor Who fan?? I'm a massive fan. Dangerously so, in fact. I was actually watching it just when I got your message. *Twilight Zone theme* Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo...

A lovely piece. I think "The Man Who Fell to Earth" is a good film too, but it is too sad for me to rewatch it. To see something so beautiful as what you have depicted here treated so heartlessly, broken so completely...it splits my heart in two.

I know what you mean, I avoid watching it if I'm not in a good mood to start with as it tends to bring me down. Really beautiful film though, agreed. Thanks x

Oooh, I had a look Wonderful group! Damn straight, the emo Anthean deserves his own group. And hugs.

I'm just reading the book at the moment, actually. Apart from the fact that in my mind Newton will forever be pale with orange hair, I think I like it even more than the film so far. Which I did NOT expect. Have you read it?

"Read" it on audiobook a few years back! It is quite good, no? It helps that the ending, while still desperately sad, isn't quite as needlessly cruel...
