No, it's  perfectly fine, no need to get offended. It's just that you won't grow as an artist if you keep using bases. I suggest if you want to be able to draw something amazing (like this: www.deviantart.com/art/MLP-FiM… ), then try to stop using bases so often. It's okay to use a base as a reference for anatomy or if you're just starting out, but if you keep using bases you won't try to make something without it. Try drawing things more often with out using bases, and your drawings will get better over time. Just try it!
