Ohoho~
Rai: He doesn't bother turning around just yet. "Mmm?" He doesn't scare easily, not by a long shot. The male finishes up whatever he was doing, an ornate, beautiful looking tea pot cradled in his hands when he turns around, raising an eyebrow at the upside-down spectacle. "What is it you want," he said, more of a statement or a demand than a question.

Continuing to be what was considered her favorite position while floating, she smiled at the Manetric. He hadn't snapped at her. He hadn't shown anything that leaned towards mean. And that, in her simple mind, was enough to think he was friendly. "Ano... Can.. can you tell me where I am?"

Rai's eyes gleamed oddly in the light, brilliant, if not down right shocking red. She was lost? He tilted his head, a gentler expression washing over his face, but still amazingly, there was no smile there. "Outside the boiling river, on the outskirts of what used to be the Firefield." he said promptly, examining her for a moment before losing interest. He sighed a little, "You, child, are from Gale Springs are you not?"

Her tail began to wag at the mention of the holy place, righting herself so that she was at his level, face to face. "Uh huh! I am, I am!" She purred, looking happy. "Ne, ne, have you been to the Spring yourself, sir?" She waved her sleeves excitedly, already forgetting the place he had told her, though her heart had quivered a bit at the mention of Firefield.

Rai looked down at her. He was much taller than her so he nearly craned his neck all the way down to look into her eyes. His hands were together unter his robed sleeves, watching her with a wan smile. "I have. My favorite teashop is in the springs." he told her. Then he gestured out to the east. "Why have you traveled so far from home? That way is the scorched mountain. If you hadn't run into me, you would have stumbled right into the desert." He looked concerned, or rather interested. He was a rogue do-gooder. An odd combination makes for an odd type of man.

Her tail wagged. "Re... really? Zaaaaaa maybe you know Koori-sama! She likes that teashop too!" She blinks and tilts her head as she tried to remember just why she was here in the first place. "Ah... see... I float!" She lifted her sleeves and waved them gently. "And.. and the wind caught me off guard so.. so here I am!" She smiled sheepishly.

Rai: "Koori... Koori...Koori?" he actually taps his head a few times with his index finger, thinking until he finally shrugs and puts his hands back elegantly into his robe. "Doesn't ring a bell." He wasn't smiling, but his expression wasn't harsh either. He looked at her feet, inches from the ground and then chuckled, offering her his hand. "Allow me to escort you back. I wouldn't want any danger to befallst you." he said smoothly.

Kaori: Th-thank you very much! *she bows a farewell to the teahouse owner before bending down to pick up the pile of sacks of berries. It was not yet time for her shift for work and so she had decided to go on an unofficial patrol of her own, ending in her agreeing to make a delivery for one of the teahouse owners. She stumbled a bit as she initially started walking, finding it rather difficult to see where she was going given the mass of the sacks of berries, but was soon briskly walking down the streets towards the specified destination.* lalalala~

Rai: He was darting through the street, a bag in one hand and a large plank of wood over his shoulder, wearing his leisurely wear and weaving in and out of people in order to get past. He was emitting sharp bursts of static from his cheeks as was his usual whilst in crowds such as these. The faster he got away from the city, the better. He was thinking of the tea he would soon be having at the Korika Teahouse in Gale Springs: Sitrus White, his favorite. He tried to focus on where he was walking but it seemed his feet knew where they were going allowing his mind to drift. Oh how he loved food and drink such as that. WHAM. He bumped headlong into a girl and almost fell over backwards, though to stop her from falling, he grabbed her shoulder, the plank of wood he was holding with that hand clattering noisily to the floor. "Are you alright?" he asked seriously.
Oh god no, I love long posts >w<

Kaori: *Kaori had been so focused on the berries in her arms and the idea of delivering them that she hadn't heard Rai coming. Well, she might have done, but the streets were bustling with noise and the sacks in her arms distorted her vision so it wasn't until she was collided into that she knew of his presence. She instinctively clung onto her delivery, not wanting them to get ruined, and felt herself stop falling over backwards by something on her shoulder. She blinked in confusion before looking up in surprise at the man before her* E-eh? I am f-fine...ohmygoodness! I apologise, I h-had not been looking as to where it was that I was going. I apologise profusely, p-please forgive me. *she starts bowing repeatedly to Rai in apology, causing her to notice the plank on the floor* ah! Rai: "Stop stammering." he said coldly, but then, where there was harshness, he suddenly let a smile curl his lips. He stood her upright and picked up a couple of things that had flown free of her sack of goods. Upon reemerging to a standing position he shook his head. "No need to make it up to me, it was I who stumbled onto you. If anything, I owe you something." almost immediately, he had wished he hadn't spoken at all, because he was a man of his word. Be it brash, quick, and unthinking, he already consciously made the decision to do so. "Are you hurt?" he continued, squatting and picking up that which he had dropped and putting it back over his shoulder.

Kaori: She yelped slightly at his initial instruction, scrunching her face up slightly in a sort of apprehension but when he started to pick up some of the things that had fallen out and say that it was his fault, she was unsure of what to do and so just stood there, staring at him blankly. "Eh? Um, n-no, I am not hurt. I am a samurai after all, I can t-take a hit, e-heh...oh yes, that being such, if I can be of any assistance please do let me know. Ah! How rude of me for not doing so earlier, p-pleasure to make your acquaintance. My name is Kaori." She bows to him before tilting her head up to give him a concerned look, "Are you injured? N-ne, and please do not blame yourself. Perhaps we were b-both partially at fault, ne~"

Rai: He blinked in surprise at her. His tone was unusually blank, hard, and hollow only because he didn't like being in crowds and drawing attention. The racket the two made bumping into each other had done just that, and no people were jostling worse, walking slower to stop and stare at the two as Rai collected her things. But what made him smile and soften was rather silly: Simply the fact that she was a Vulpix. His beloved sister Bai-fon is a Vulpix. Ergo, he has a soft spot for them."A samurai, hm? What's that like." he asked curiously, raising an eyebrow. "Ah, that won't be necessary," he added stubbornly, "Rai Junichihiro. Call me whatever you like, Kaori-san. No, I'm perfectly okay, I suspect you're right." Indeed he was. And he towered over her, broad shouldered and tall. The collision simply caught him off guard, nothing more. A small girl like her couldn't do him any real damage in just bumping into him.

Kaori: She blinked in surprise and stared up at him curiously, a smile slowly spreading across her face. Nobody ever really asked her about her job and she was incredibly enthusiastic about it so she felt a simple happiness well up at the question. She still felt a little concerned about whether or not he had gotten injured but he did seem to be alright and so she felt a little comforted in that. "Being a samurai is a m-most wonderful experience, yup! I get to patrol lots and work with the most amazing people and m-make sure that everyone stays safe a-and...!" She stopped herself and looked at the ground nervously, worried about getting too carried away. "Ne, um, s-sorry if I am boring you, Junichihiro-san. Um, i-if it is not an intrusive question may I ask what it is that you do?"

Rai: It was as if he saw the gears working in her head. He grinned and waited for her to speak, then found she was very proud of being a samurai. He really had nothing to be proud of. Being a bounty hunter was bitter, hard work, but it definitely got the blood and adrenaline pumping the way he liked. Most of the work he gets is legitimate, as most know him as Hajime Junichihiro's son, but sometimes he gets the really dangerous, back alley type of job from the select few who dare approach "The Blue Wolf", a renowned thief from the former Crystal Lake. "Is it now?" he smiled softly at her. "That does sound lovely. And demanding, no doubt your job is very important, Kaori-san~" he chuckled and inclined his head politely. "I am a Bounty-hunter." he said simply. "Come, let me take you for tea so we can talk in a less crowded area." he insisted gently, hoisting the plank on his shoulder up a few inches so it wouldn't slip.

Kaori: She returned the smile with bright eyes. She had always felt that her job was the most important part of her life in the village and whilst she had great doubt in her abilities and skills compared to most of her comrades, it made her strangely happy that someone thought of it as important. She'd met a nice person. "Whilst I am uncertain of how important my role is, y-yes. I think that it is important to protect everyone and keep things safe but no more important than those who work to make food for people o-or provide culture with music..." She felt herself begin to giggle and quickly stopped herself by smothering her face with her sleeve, not wanting to appear too childish or silly. "Tea? Oh, um, okay! I would like that very much."

Rai: He smiled. He knew nothing of the ways of Samurai or Ninja, but his words seemed to have a profound effect on her. She brightened and gave the appearance of one who was happy. He on the other hand, was very confident in his ability as a bounty hunter. The job was great, namely because he got to name his price, and play by his own rules. Add that to his family fortune and the guy had it pretty much made in the shade. He wasn't the bragging type though, nor did he ever make a big deal of this. He loved what he did, and that's all there was to it. And in talking about this stranger's job, it seemed he had made a new friend. "I have no doubt that it is very important." he told her sagely, nodding. "Without protection, who will keep our customs, culture, music and food safe, after all? Everyone is important in their own way and you are no exception." he grinned warmly at her and began to walk up the street again with her at his side. He looked at her quizzically, and opened his mouth to speak up and tell her it was alright to laugh, but before he got a chance, she spoke so he contented himself with a smile. A little ways up the walk, he gestured and turned left into a quaint little tea house at the edge of the marketplace.

Kaori: She trotted along beside him happily, still carrying her bag of berries and nodded in agreement. She placed the berries at a stall in the marketplace as they walked through it, giving a quick nod to the stall owner as she did not want to be rude to Rai but she knew she'd feel guilty if she went to tea before dropping the berries off first, it was merely fortunate that the place was by the marketplace. She had never been there before but it had a nice feel to it and she thought it matched Junichihiro-san. "This is a n-nice place...oh, a-and I was thinking: it is because of the people that I do what I do because to keep everything as it is: the culture a-and the food and the life, that is something important to me. And thus I suppose it must be a similar thing to be a bounty hunter, right? I mean, we stop bad people who threaten the village but we can get weighed down and not be able to help every single person. But b-b-bounty hunters stop bad guys for individual people, right? So that makes us on the same bad guy defeating t-team, eh?" She smiled broadly at this, it was always comforting to know comrades were so nice.

Rai: The man noticed this but made no point of asking what she was up to, that was none of his business~ When he stepped inside, he took off his shoes politely and situated himself at an empty table after receiving a gesture from a woman up front, nodding so Kaori followed him. It was odd, he thought, going out to tea with someone who seemed to be a lot like his sister. Perhaps that's why he was being so nice in the first place. He wanted the two to meet, but knew that would be very strange. he just met Kaori after all, and being the protective big brother figure he was, he wasn't keen on strangers approaching Bai fon anyway. He looked around the quaint little place and took his seat opposite the vulpix, smiling at her words and bowing his head politely. "Indeed it is." he agreed. He listened to what she had to say with slight and gentle nods, grinning and agreeing with everything she said. Though being a bounty-hunter he was kind of like a double agent, working for both sides, not because he wanted to, but because he had to to pay for the things he and his sister needed. He wasn't complaining though. Being his own boss had the luxury of refusing and accepting jobs on his own will. He's caught many criminals, but he's done his share of moderately bad things himself. "We can't save everyone, that is a sad truth Hunters, ninjas, samurais, and fighters in general have to learn." he said sagely, "But the balance between light and dark is maintained, as is the balance of this world. Without us, there could be no opposition." he smiled at her warmly as a waitress came over. "The usual please," he told her, then nodded at Kaori. "Anything you like, it's on me."

Kaori: Kaori looked around the teahouse curiously, it had a very nice feeling to it and she could see why it must be a pleasant place for people to go. It was not the same as the one she was used to but she supposed that it was more to do with the people also there as opposed to the teahouse itself, Mizi was often very loud and so it did change the atmosphere a bit. She nodded along in turn to his words, eyes wide in awe of the manectric sitting opposite her. He reminded her a lot of Ziek-san in terms of how knowledgeable he was and whilst she accepted what he said, that small part of her still couldn't help but want the world to weigh more in the light department as opposed to being balanced. She blinked up at the waitress and frowned at the man saying that he would pay. "I-I cannot allow that, Junichihiro-san, e-heh. Ne, I can pay, it poses no p-problem. I do not mean to be rude but I suppose that it is being not-rude by not taking advantage. Y-yes. Please, thank you very much but I am able to pay...yup. Please do not trouble yourself." She smiled at him expectantly at this and began thinking of what it was that she wanted to have.

Rai: He looked to the waitress, and then to Kaori, blank at first, but he allowed a grin to spill onto his face. "As you wish." he said simply, more to silence her than to give in to her. As she had said before, they were both responsible for that little mishap that occurred whilst they met before, he supposed the bill was the same. Though it was very strange. He still was stuck on the fact that this girl reminded him so heavily of his sister and if she had tried to pay for her own food, he would have told her not to be silly and payed it himself anyway. He fell silent and flipped through the menu casually, thinking about things ranging from his place int he balance of the universe, to how happy and content he was in this teashop, about to get his tea. He was a man of habit, and has been ever since he moved to scorched mountain, yet his ritualistic tendencies of work, going to get tea and cakes, going home, then repeating that, every day, still brought him a strange joy and satisfaction.

Kaori: She tried to think of what it was that she wanted but, as was always the case when she went to teahouses, spicy noodles danced around the forefront of her mind, dominating the menu that she was trying to formulate in her head. She felt herself start to blush at the thought of it as she found it a little embarrassing and unhealthy to be so hung up on the food but a huge part of herself assured her that she should at least see how it compared here than at other places and so she mumbled, "J-jasmine tea and spicy noodles, please...with, um, chilan berry dumplings...please...yes." She felt herself blush even more despite haven ordered something to eat other than the noodles and quickly shook her head to try to lose the blush before looking over at Raijin. She had only met him that day and under most embarrassing circumstances in her eyes yet she felt strangely comfortable in his company, which was always something nice. She supposed that it must mean that he was a good person which lead her to drift off into thought about all of the good people in her life, what constituted a good person and whether or not the spicy noodles would taste good.

Rai: he watched her carefully and grinned once she spoke. "What's your nature if you don't mind me asking." he said softly, a curious twinge in his voice, eying the sudden blush on her face as the waitress wandered off. He felt calm and composed in her company, rather than tense and formal as he was with pretty much everyone else that he just meets. Dumplings. Well that wounds good. He let his mind wander off to those and also the tarts and poffins he ordered whenever he stopped here. He looked around. To his knowledge, spicy was a commodity since not a lot of people liked the taste in their cookies and tarts, so he was usually the only one who ordered anything the least bit spicy. He was close to the owners of the shop though, and they stocked the good stuff just for him. Moments later, their tea was delivered to their table, his a steaming cup of clean white liquid that smelled minty, lemony, and fresh, and hers, the Jasmine tea with two small decorative berry mint leaves situated to the side of the cup along with a silver spoon and an elegant looking stirrer. He proceeded to make his tea the way he likes, adding barely a packet of sugar and no cream, stirring and raising it to his lips for a sip.

Kaori: "My...'nature'?" Her lips parted in a slow exhalation as she tried to think and her brow creased ever so slightly in thought. "I apologise, I do n-not mind the asking of the question nor do I want to appear rude or d-disregard such a question, but I am not fully understanding what it is that is being asked...yes." She looked down at the decorations on her tea with childish fascination, as if it were some special gift that a friend had given her in surprise. Her eyes flickered over to look at what Raijin had ordered, still bright with the excitement from berries being with a drink. His drink had a smell that Kaori could not quite place but it was intriguing to look at and the vulpix made a mental note to find out what it was and to try some later. "Ne, J-Junichiro-san?" she asked quietly. "U-um, I seem to have received berries with my drink...how much m-more do I have to pay? Or have they perhaps served me part of someone else's food? I would hate to be depriving someone else of such things...and, thinking about it, in response to Junichihiro-san's earlier question: I suppose that I am a fire nature because that is the natural element which I am able to create." She grinned at him at this, temporarily forgetting the prospect of having someone else's berries on her tea as she felt the satisfaction of not failing the man before her and being able to answer his question.

Rai: He nodded and tilted his head at her. Did she not know what she was talking about? Well that would be new, he thought vaguely. "It's okay," he said simply, watching her. She liked to please people, liked to go out of her way to assure none would be offended by her word sets, yes. Maybe she was a jolly nature, or perhaps a docile one, he couldn't quite tell. "Let me put it this way: If you could pick one word to describe yourself, what word would that be?" he said with his soft grin. "Oh no, that's yours, don't worry. They like to decorate their dishes here. Do everything up really nice." he chuckled softly and sipped at his pale white tea. "No extra cost, really. Maybe 3 copper pieces or a bronze." He looked down into his cup at her reflection in it before looking back up at her properly with another soft chuckle. "Ah, I see," he said sagely, "I feel I am more fire than lightning. I can relate to the love of fire we have."

Kaori: She perked up a little at being told that it was okay, smiling softly at the news that the decorations were, indeed, hers. "I am most glad then, they are so nice!" Her smile turned into a happy grin and a soft warm feeling swelled in her chest at the amount of thought the teahouse had put into a simple drink. It was refreshing and it showed to Kaori that the people of the teahouse must be dedicated and thoughtful people which, in turn, hopefully meant that they enjoyed their job thoroughly as well. She cocked her head to the side at his relation to fire, her momentary look of surprised disbelief turning quickly back to a happy one. "R-really? That is most wonderful, I am glad that Junichihiro-san feels such a way. Ah! N-not that I am being disrespectful towards other elements and types or saying that I feel fire is better! Not at all. I...I merely feel that I am happy to have a connection with J-Junichihiro-san is such a way, yes. It is also interesting, in all honesty, since Junichihiro-san is not a fire type himself." She paused, wanting to probe into why it was he felt this way but feeling that it might be too intrusive a question to ask. She pouted a little and changed her train of thought into trying to answer his previous question. "How would I describe myself? Um...that is a difficult question. I am Kaori and I am a samurai a-and, um..." She looked puzzled, vaguely grasping the question but not feeling entirely sure of how she wanted to go about answering it nor whether she wanted to and cause a bad impression to Raijin.
((lolz, yeh. Kaori is probably naive/docile nature but she doesn't like to think of herself as such. XD))

Rai: He grinned at the look on her face. This one was definitely an odd one, no doubt about that, but he enjoyed the company all the same. "They are. The people here like to do everything very nicely." he informed her sagely as he sipped his own tea. He felt it slide down his throat, cooling his body rather than warming it. As a Manectric, he had his fair share of fire power too. His sparks often caught flame, or else he'd run so fast, he didn't notice the thunder brewing about his body. He looked around. This wasn't his absolute favorite tea shop. If anything it was the second, but his favorite was much too far away. He was glad she was enjoying herself though, it seemed. He nodded once at the end of his display and grinned cooly at her. It was strange that he identified with fire more than thunder, his own type and breed, but his most powerful attack was flamethrower. That, coupled with the fact that he was pretty much always irritated about something and that his body temperature was much past normal most of the time, though he felt fine, made him feel that the fire in him was stronger than the thunder. "I feel fire is the best element too. It's life in it's purest form." and without life, there can be no death and vice versa. "Fire is dangerous, there's no doubt about that, but in the worthy warrior's hands, it serves a greater purpose than destruction." He watched her calmly through taking sips of his tea and eating a few of his spicy pokeblocks, then grinned as she spoke. "Do not be afraid." he told her simply. "There is no right or wrong answer to the question, young one, and it's not as if I'd jump over the able and attack you if you were to give me the 'wrong' answer anyway." he added, a little tactlessly. "Most describe me as Adamant"
(( how sweet <33 xD lol and sorry for the late responses! Been super busyyy~ ))

Kaori:She blinked up at him excitedly as he spoke of life being the essence of fire, a melancholy feeling dancing around in her chest. She had seen so much devastation caused by fire, so really she shouldn't think this way, but whether it was being a fire type herself or thinking that devastation was only accidental or caused by the wrong hands, Kaori felt the same way about fire and was rather stunned at the fact that someone else thought about it like that too. She nodded along as he spoke in a slightly awestruck agreement before he joked about attacking her if she gave the 'wrong answer'. Despite his saying that he wouldn't and the fact that Kaori rather liked Junichihiro-san, she couldn't held but lean back a little at this nervously. She did not think that he would lie but she felt a little uncertain since the topic had been brought up and it would not have been the first time she'd been disciplined for being wrong. She bit her lip anxiously, not really wanting to be attacked by anyone and knowing full well that there was no way she'd fight back against such a nice person in response. Instead, she decided to try to answer his question again, rocking back a little so that she'd be able to get up quickly to dodge anything. "U-um...adamant? Ne, that is interesting, I am c-certain that it is a good thing then, ne? Myself? Oh, a word like that? Um...to be honest, if I had only one such word for myself, I believe that I would choose 'hopeful'. There are so many words b-but I do not believe one can choose merely one. Maybe as a v-vague description, yes, b-but a person is so much more than one word. And whilst one might be g-greedy, one might also be kind as well. One word would not give a f-full image but I think that 'hopeful' would best describe who I am, yep...um, but if we are talking about how m-most others would describe me instead, then I presume that it would be 'f-failure' or 'burden' or, um, perhaps 'kind', though I am not so sure about the last one. I was helping them at the time, so they think of the action as opposed to the person. But, um, I have never a-asked anyone what they think so I wouldn't know for c-certain..."
She looks down apprehensively and fiddles around with her sleeve, starting to feel a little upset about the thought of what some other people might think about her.

Rai: He grinned and took another sip of his tea, without really tasting it. It was unlike himt o be so philosophical with a stranger like this, but he could tell she was enjoying herself. They were a lot alike in the way they talked. Or so he thought so far really, since he knew nothing about this girl other than the fact that she's rather jumpy, obviously a people pleaser, and has an avid facination with the element she was assigned at birth. He let slip a soft chuckle as thoughts continued to whirl around in his head, about fire, breath, the sun, heat, and the mountain he lived on. Unforgiving? He preferred to think of it as misunderstood.
The joke had resonated in her and he couldn't help but smirk. She did know he was joking, right? Well, if she didn't then he wouldn't elaborate. She could figure it out for herself, seeing as how she danced around the topic at hand, giving vague and incomplete answers he couldn't relate to simply to stave upsetting him, was rather annoying. But also amusing to say the least. He was enjoying her company, though he couls tell she was often too hard on herself. This thought was proven true as the word 'failure' traversed her lips. He felt the smile slide off of his as he took another sip of his tea, more to busy his mouth to spare him from answering than anything.
Honorable. Honorable and bold was he, or at least, who he was supposed to be. He wasn't to say the least and he took pride in that, though he felt he's offended her enough for one day. Once from bumping into her earlier, and again at that little crack he made about attacking her.
"Hopeful," he repeated after a short, pensive pause. He could understand that. Though she had such a round about way of saying things, it was difficult to know which words were important that he must listen to, and which ones he could disregard as useless chatter or excess gibberish.
"You are rather kind. Docile, I'd imagine, though you are jumpy and talk quite a lot, so I'm not too sure about that." he continued, "though kind has certainly crossed my mind, Child, do not sell yourself short of what you are." He was wise, though he was only 26, he knew quite a lot and called everyone 'child' under or matching the age of his sister. Even if she was older though, he'd call her child. It was too weird to refer to another Vulpix as anything else. I digress~~
"Others may think of you as kind. Are you well known in you village? Would you describe your friends as 'kind'?" he asked innocently.

Kaori: "A-ah..." She felt a little lost for words and sat there in a momentary silence, processing what had been said. She had withdrawn into herself a little since her last comment and so finding her voice to respond proved to be a far more challenging task than she had anticipated. Talk quite a lot? She had been speaking quite a bit and she frowned at this, worried that maybe she had offended him and spoken too much. She knew that not speaking was a good thing in company over tea in terms of etiquette, but the situation was a little different than she had learnt to deal with and Kaori had always felt that she was able to act a little differently at the village anyway. She quickly shook her head to clear her thoughts and gave a quick curt bow to him across the table. "G-gomenasai. I...s-sorry, Junichihiro-san, I had not realised just how much it was that I was speaking. I apologise profusely if I have caused any offence o-or said anything that should not have been spoken. And 'jumpy'? Um, I had not realised this, apologies, but I will work most hard in order to overcome such an issue. So, p-please, um, that is I do not wish to ask something that I should not and so please forgive me for that, ah! That is not to say that I request forgiveness, merely...y-yes." She exhaled softly, her thoughts muddled, and looked down at the table bashfully. "Selling myself short? I do not think that I am doing so, if I may contradict that. ah! That is not to say that I disregard the opinion or thoughts of Junichihiro-san, or that I do not believe in their significance. I just....I only...I apologise. Ne, well-known? I would not know. I am a samurai of the village and so I do my best, yep. And my friends are all very kind and good-hearted people, I do not think they would say anything bad. They are too kind to do so." She shrugs slightly and gives Rai a melancholy smile and returns to drinking her tea, brow furrowed as she decided to concentrate on speaking less.
