I'm curious. What render quality/settings and how long did it take, and what box do you have. I'm building a new machine and I want a good estimate on how it will perform.
Of course, if it's a secret you don't have to tell xD

render time: 3 hours per picture

The machine specs is: (i think it very old office machine

AMD X2 3800
4gb Ram

other part are not have an influence on render

I recommend CoreQuad
and beter than CoreQuad is Dual CoreQuad.

Do you build computers?
If so why not check out my upcoming build at EggXpert:

PS. Should I get DDR3? I hear DDR2 800 is still great.

about ddr3 ig you would not overclocking system -- use DDR2.
IMHO i will stay with DDR2
And i recommend 4Gb of RAM
other choises are good

One person suggested to get 2x2GB instead of 2x2x1GB of RAM leaving 2 slots up for expansion to 8GB of RAM in the future. Would you recommend I fill my slots using 4GB of RAM, or should I leave room for expansion?

i have problem with 2x2Gb (rebooted with blue screen vista x64) so now i seat with 4x1GB

That's what I thought. Thanks. If I can cough up some extra money I might consider 4x2GB so I can still have more RAM. I know a few programs will thank me for that.

Ok this rocks (not caring for the 'green' of the couch but the modeling is sweet)

It looks great. So many details. I don't know if one night would be enough time for me to model all this. Great job
