man, hair... they do protect us humans from UV rays, but that's really about it.... other than that hair just sits there and looks pretty...inkling head tentacles do that as well, but however each tentacle is prehensile and each one ends in a sucker, er well except for sub-tentacles. but all of their head tentacles can move independently.
but like both hair and head tentacles, when cut it does not feel pain, and also it grows back.
