Well worth it I'd say. Bravo!! How did you handle the city background? I always have such a nervous breakdown when it comes to vast architecture.

Thanks man!
As to the city background for this... It's partially manipulated, as I stated above. I restructured a few minor things in the city, and then went and re-painted a lot of it, and painted in the ruins.
But as far as it goes, I like drawing cityscapes and the best help I can give you is to remember that you really only need to detail the buildings in the front extensively, because atmospheric perspective and shadow/highlight areas (depending on the weather) take care of the rest the further back they go. So let the middle areas have detail defined by the shadows instead of specific detail, and the last couple rows don't actually need detailing and 3-dimensionality so much as a general definition of form through shadow (with some variants from building to building with either darker or lighter shading, and then from tier to tier in the same manner). If you're doing a foggy or smokey cityscape like this then the atmosphere alone kills a lot of sharpness, though a really clear bright day will call for a bit more in the back areas, though still not too much.
Does this make sense? I think I'm rambling... Anyways, I hope this helps?
