She knew it wasn't the smartest idea she had ever had but she couldn't stand staying in bed another moment. Day Dreamer placed her hooves on the floor and fluffed her wings a bit before she tousled her head back and forth a little to get the pain in her neck to leave. She had ask Aurora to come over that day and help her with a few things that still needed to get done before the small wedding.

Day took a few steps, her hooves clacking against the wooden hallway as she made her way to the stairs. She took in a deep breath as she slowly began to walk down them. A sharp pain hit her side as she lost her footing and slipped down the last few steps. She let out a small grunt as she sat there a moment trying to let the pulsating pain in her side die down. After a few moments she stood up again, her hind leg twitched a little and felt a bit numb but she shrugged it off a little as she heard a knock on the front door.

She smiled as she made her way slowly to it and opened it; "Hey there Rory."
Standing in the doorway was her best friend Aurora, she had her saddle bag upon her back and a smile on her face. She walked into the house and removed her scarf and bag before she spoke.
"What are you doing up, you should be in bed." Rory stated.
"It's al-errrrr," Day moaned as she collapsed to the floor her body was in pain as her hips felt as if something was ripping them apart; "Rory-"
"Day, oh my god, don't move!" Aurora got all the pillows she could gather and helped Day get onto them in hope to help with the pain; "Can I get you anything? Water, a hot water bottle.... anything?"
Day began to cry as she shoved her face into pillows, she didn't want to believe it but the letter she had gotten yesterday was something she did not want to be true. She pulled her face up and looked her friend in the eyes; "Rory, I got a letter from Doctor Blue Cross, it wasn't good."

Rory's heart sank, her eyes saw the letter laying on the end table and she levitated it over to her. As she read through it her eyes fogged up and began to tear. She dropped the paper and hugged Day as tight as she could.
"Oh Day!" Rory sobbed as she held her friend tight.
"I don't know what to do... these pains won't leave and.. and I don't want to lose the baby..." Day managed to gargle through her tears...

This is my contest entry for 's contest.
We had to draw one of her characters, using a song of our choice. Now I had many ideas for this contest but when I heard this song, my heart skipped a beat, broke, and I began to cry. It had to be done.
The song is so beautiful but so heartfelt and sad at the same time. I wanted to do an image like that, with a story that I've had floating in my mind for a long time.

Day Dreamer is my character and she's a Dwarf Pegasus, so child birth with any other pony who isn't like her is hard and will have complications. Her fiance at the time is Broken Zen, a Unicorn...

Aurora Heartnote is 's character who happens to be a dear and close friend of Day and Zen and is willing to be there for Day when Zen can't. She helps out as much as she can and is always there for her buddy... however this situation is so much...

4 months...Day looses her first child.
