Description I enjoyed this movie a lot more than I had any right to expect.

The animation was just top notch, Disney really knows how to get emotions across with subtlety. Also the snow simulation was impressive.

Equally impressive (from a narrative point) is how they managed to make both sisters equally interesting and likable despite the fact that one of them is essentially a god.

the one thing I was disappointed with in that movie was the plot details they just glossed over. Like building a snowman. And how did Anna survive completely alone supposedly for three years after the parents died? And the biggest one, couldn't they explain how Elsa got her powers? Am I the only one who wished they had been more thorough?

Most if not all of those details were intentionally left out as the focus of the film was on the relationship between the sisters and all other peripheral plot details were deemed unimportant to dedicate screen time to. If the movie made you feel a certain way, then the creators knew what they were doing in structuring the narrative in a such a way as to cause the most emotional satisfaction.

simple answers:
1. I agree the snowman thing was glossed over but i think they were trying to make the introduction of Olaf a fun surprise for the kids.
2. I'm assuming that the palaces staff were still looking after her and the main concern was to keep Anna from seeing Elsa.
3. the fact that her powers are unexplained makes it more fun for people to come up  with their own conclusions and most importantly it has zero impact on the events of the film. In this case I catually liked hat they left it unexplained

Unfortunately i don't like things left unexplained. It prevents me from really liking and becoming attached for some reason.

there is nothing wrong with putting emotion in a movie, and they missed that element.

tangled was awesome, frozen should have been as thought out as that. I think Elsa singing back, "do you want to build a snowman" would have made the movie for me.
