I recalled something from an old story idea, which applies to the prompt "nightmare".

In short, Dr. Evil Dude has frequent nightmares, caused by being unable to defeat Titanium Patrick.

Since Dr. Evil Dude can brainwash literally anything, he brainwashes his own nightmare, and sends it to harass the hero.

The nightmare manifests a storm cloud, which rains upon TP and his surroundings.

Since Titanium Patrick is a blockhead in every sense of the word, it takes him days to realize that the constant source of rain and occasional lightning strikes isn't a metaphor of his emotional state, but is in fact soaking him and his surroundings. Not to mention frying him with lightning.

Titanium Patrick and Dr. Evil Dude are OCs from an old short story series called.... wait for it.... "Titanium Patrick".
