You actually translated 'Molotok' into Elder Futhark? Very good

Something tells me that would be done great justice in the hands of a little bitty hyper anime chick. Like Chiyo-chan from Azumanga Daioh or Sasami from Tenchi...

I am trying to understand the mechanix of the device, I would be worried the amount of slugging with the sledge would throw off the wrench thread

The hammer component of the head is welded to the two outer bars of the neck. The outer bars are connected to each other with a ring, through which the handle fits. The top of the wrench is welded to the middle bar, the terminal end of which is threaded and fits inside the handle. The rotation of the handle extends the wrench.

I suppose it would also help if I had given some indication as to the scale. Molotok is around two feet long, so the threading is quite large.

I hope that explains it. ^_Q

With that size they would have to be, but yes I can see how strong they would have to be. Are you constructing this out of actual metal via Mill or C&C?

I'm not sure what we're going to make it out of. Given that it is meant to be a prop that he will have to carry around for hours at a time, it probably won't be 100% metal.

Will the Sledge-Wrench ever end up becoming a real item?

It certainly will be!

While being a tool and not looking as though it were meant to be a weapon, my first thought when I saw it was that it could really do some damage to some poor guy's head.

I hope your mechanic doesn't have a temper!

Oh, it is most certainly meant to be both a tool and a weapon. *devious grin*

I'm glad to hear I wasn't totally off, then!

It is a very neat design. I like how uncomplicated (and useful) it looks.
