I'm not happy with how this came out.
I had a whole game plan for coloring but at outlining, the strategy died. Game over. And also this is kind of small for me to work with. Heh... once you start working with big things it's hard to go back and small detailed things and short-term. So I gave up.
The sketch was decent.
I hate outlining but because this was such a slick board, the lead kept wiping off, even when it was in my bag, so I had to outline.
Blah. Notice there's no detail in the head... what a shame.

It's yet ANOTHER one of those tree on heads.
I was trying to use up this illustration board.

My original idea:
I have to admit I used to want to dance... like ballroom, swing, salsa, but with a partner. I probably wanted to at one point be some ballerina and graceful like that. But no, happens I just hate dancing but I enjoy watching. I used to want to be in guard after seeing my sister's team, but then I realized again many years later that I hated to dance so there's no point. I wanted to be a runner, an idle, dumb sport, sure. But can you do it and do it well? I can't but I want to get better at it. Sometimes I forget to breathe so I need a dumb sport.
*sweat*
So that's what was "growing" on my mind. What if I kept at dancing... right now i have nothing. I have limited hobbies: deemed idle by my mom. I should forget my parents when it comes to art. They don't care if I like it, so nor should I care if they encourage me even though it does break my heart, as I do pour a load of my life into it.

Well doing this piece gave me an idea for a big thing for a contest called Culture Shapers. Take a look [link]
Hard thing is that I'd have to go against AP art students too. But I can afford the entry fee and not win anything.
And I guess I'll explain my idea.... when ever I start and post it.

Food coloring
Copic markers
Gouache ( doesn't work well with me)
