Description And so, after months & weeks of cruel punishment I decided to leave the torment hole for real. I even made a full-swing comeback art, with CGs and all.

It felt as though god didn't want me to continue working on that animation project I dropped it altogether(though thus far character animations for 3 out of 30 scenes are done & one of these days I might post them here regardless). I missed drawing for pure enjoyment that is always finding something new in every one done, so here is my first shot in pursuing that lost happiness.

It's what's been mysteriously floating around my mind for some time. Though the end result turned out much less mysterious than what I originally had in mind.. Either way, as a comeback art I don't want to be cruel to myself considering what I had just been through so I decided to do a simple one. No background & simple CG, while at that I manage to learn cel-shading more properly.

Also, dig that digital signature of mine. I thought I haven't been appreciative of my own art, as if disowning them. So I made my mark, aside from the invincible watermark(IW) one. I forgot to update the IW with this mark though. Oh well, next time.

P/S: Also, fishes. For some reason I love drawing them. This marks from my early childhood. Although, this doesn't represent any species in particular. I just enjoy drawing some randomly designed fish. Big ones especially.

And, Wow!! from me too. Haven't seen you in ages. Then I realized you've been mysteriously purged from my watchlist. Though, you've been gone these last few years yes?(Though I'm not really one to say. Haven't been active myself)

Welcome back to the world of non animation XP

I read the reply you did to my questions, looks like you arent' the only one giving up on animation. I just don't have the time anymore myself.

Though it'd be nice to see how far you got!

Great illustration! I could see it for a kid's novel or something. I can also see some return to the old stylings which is nice in that it kept to more human proportions (though the other more cartoonlike styling was good too! just that it's nice to see teh variety side by side and not forgotten)

Thanks, I appreciate you welcoming. xP

It's just that for something that doesn't create enough awe takes so much time & energy to do. I decided that unless it's for work I wouldn't be found dead trying to do my own.

Though, being able to draw in a broad range of styles do backfire often. In that I feel kind of lost in myself, not knowing which one represents me more and such. And so I come to a conclusion that by appealing to the public would get me recognized, and what they recognize me for would be my best take.

I'm slowly getting back into things. This hand that hasn't drawn anything properly for nearly/over a year is quite rusty. Though, I'm looking forward to improving seriously this time around.

As long as you can prove that you are able to see a long adn tiring project to its end then reserve it for work yeah (no point stressing) but some employers like to see the proof.

yes large style ranges can hurt (adn I know it I'm very inconsistent) but well it's a matter of learning control.

goodluck

Yes, that's why I worry regarding proving myself in something beyond my control. If I can barely finish one then there are chances I wouldn't be able to consistently work on said matters, which I find employers to be checking too. Whether it's a finished project or not, they'd mostly be checking on whether can you teamwork. May seem like something hard to nail but they usually mostly see it in your face and able to tell whether you can or not.

All this time spent on reflecting this I hope would help. I try to focus a bit more and consistency seems to come naturally. If this turns out good then I'm relieved for finally at least doing it right.

well yes teamwork is something but well you also have to show you can see a project through to the end... I still think both aspects are equally as important.

That is not to say the other isn't, for real life has always been about well-roundedness. I'm just saying that if there's anything I'm proving this by, it's not going to be done with just that piece of incomplete work, if only, it'll more likely serve as a part of the whole presentation. Although this isn't saying I'm to swindle.. More like presenting the broad range of things I can work with. Haaha, this is starting to make me look bad xDDD

It's always a struggle to appear at ones best. though all we can do is try our best and hope for the best. I'm sure you'll do fine just making sure that you dont forget to prove yourself in some of the other directions.

I've always been fussy about details. Sometimes less is really better. But even my simple works are a bit too detailed it seems. xDD
I do admit this one's subject matters are more centralized thanks to proper arrangements.
Haha thanks there.

Oh dont say that! I always admire people who bring up such sweet and special details!
I was visit your gallery and its amazing!
For me every detail or BG is hard work because i have no ideas and when i finish something its always looks a little bit unreal! ^^
Such awesome works like yours are a good help and for me a big inspiration!

P.S.: Did i understand it right? You where working on a anime and drop it because you losing all off your fun on it?

Router-Jax In reply to IICloudChaserII [2010-08-15 11:08:32 +0000 UTC]

Well, it's not like I hate myself for it. xD
Rather, I think I haven't been appreciating myself for some time when in actuality others have been liking what I do. I have this paranoia about not living up to people's expectations, you see..

And about that, it's not just about the lost fun. A lot of other things happened IRL that I lost my will to complete it. I think that something you do for work, is quite impossible to be done as a form of enjoyment during your free time. Especially when it's tedious. With that in mind, I stopped doing it. Seeing it from a positive point of view, I also have my illustration skills to develop.

HΓΆΓΆΓΆΓΆΓΆΓΆΓΆ!

All you write sounds a little bit like me!
I work one a manga and i wish someone could help but i dont have the
courage to ask some friends for help because i dont wanna badger them whit my stuff.
In a other way i dont even want to show other peoples the mange because i dont want them to be disappoited.
I always hope so much they will like it and its good enough to read it but by the truth i never show it to anyone! :-D
The last weaks i was so busy with my work that i have to make a break and only draw some pic if i had the time and feeling for it!
Most of the days im so tired form the work that nothing coms into my head and out of my hands!;-D

Yeah, I heard others saying the same as well. I believe everyone is facing the same everyday challenges.

And I thought things have to change, so I started coming back to dA and draw stuffs again. The motivation you get when people see what you draw and like them is really moving. It gets you moving on by the least.

Yeah thats right!
If you get a big positive echo so the whole day is brighten
up!
But if no one look at your wors thats pretty sad und you fall into a big hole of fustration .
I always try to look at the newest deviants and sometimes i find some nice people lik you! :-D
I love to see peoples progress and when i have my own probs. whit a pic i can always ask someone!
Its cool that you go your own way with your art and dont let the pressure take out the fun out of your work!

Greetings Cloud

Also, I find interesting stuffs in your gallery too. I'm intending to check them out soon when I'm free.. I have a bit of things to settle for now.
