Most of us have recurring dreams, some of them are or become nightmares. Here's mine...It's been happening for pretty much my whole life, specially when I am staying at my parents' place. They are probably the whole reason why it's happening. Well... not them, their decision to live here. Right next to the sea, you can see it out the window and it's wonderful.
...And I don't fear a tsunami, never have. So it's not like I lived in anguish that this was actually going to happen, but my subconscious keeps going there every so often. It's always in the same place too, my first home. And it kind of looks like the image around here: tall, flat, 8 floor buildings and then the lower ones nearing the shore, just of course I made this a bit prettier. The photo I used for the balcony door frame is from my parents' balcony though, and I put myself in there watching. I'm always alone in the dream and sometimes I can see myself like that in it. For some reason I never seem to freak out too much... somehow, even though everything that I know at that moment is destroyed and I am scared, I am not spastic about it. But I can't recall one time when the dream has ended with a defined conclusion, usually the last I remember is just a lot of water everywhere...

Now, I'm curious about your interpretation of that dream, did it stop cause you figured it out? I've now been living back near the sea for over half a year, and haven't had the nightmare at all... strange!

And yeah I think this kind of common omen by one side are just the visualization of one of our deep fear (we live near the sea-> fear of a big wave on us), by another side there's something really ominous wanting to warn us about any kind of danger, but the fact it is a massive danger doesnt mean the dreamer is personally in danger, could be something's gonna happen to the town, or to the world in general. After those nightmares my town had big pollution problems for a steel firm we have there (biggest pollution problem in europe), and it's not gonna stop, despite all our protests, and the number of the cases of cancer is increasing.
Anyway also the zombie are stopped. I usually dreamt them wandering around in the city, attacking my house, or attacking myself and my friends... always moving anyway. All of a sudden the last dream about them was: zombies all immobile, standing still all together in a place and all looking up the sky the same point doing nothing. One could even walk among them and they... nothing.
That. That was scary... sort of "call" happening, like the apocalypse starting soon...

The danger there near to you could have passed, or you simply are no more afraid to die into that way, in the meantime you "exorcized" that fear with Your Art too... so it's like you embraced it and accepted it.

Never had a zombie one but your last one is amazing... it's a mix of the zombie movies and one that really shocked me as a kid where time stops for everyone but the main character... creepy stuff.

Heehee you don't need *so* many people, 4 or 5 people in the same room in different spots and you got it, then you just have to change them again. Even better if you take the pics with different clothing each.
Admittedly that's still more people than I could get easily, but not impossible.

Nah kidding, it'll stay as a project I guess (together with many others) 'till I improve my skills too.

I have had this same recurring nightmare since a child, 15 years maybe more. As a kid I lived on Rockaway Beach in Queens, NY. Still have the dream till this day.

Ain't it damn scary? Lol... it's been a while for me now. It's almost like if I had somehow gotten over it after I made that artwork... Never had the nightmare again since. But life is long and opportunities so many lol...

Heehee nope, I've never drown in it. Most of these happen in a similar setting, where the water comes forward but it is always lover than I am, so what I remember from these nightmares most times is just looking down from my 5th floor and seeing it all covered by water. If I ever drowned in it, I probably don't remember as that's the time when one would wake up. ^.^'

Do you live on ocean?
As kid (and occasionally even now) I have a similar nigmare, but is about volcanos, even though I don't live in a volcanic area.
Sometimes i even dream to have Vesuvius exploding near my home, even if I live in a total different area.

I lived next to the Mediterranean Sea for 35 years, so that I could see it from my window, and I am staying there now too with my parents for a while. So I am sure that these nightmares have something to do with that fact, in the way they shape themselves in my subconscious, as I don't have them as often when I'm not staying here. However I believe the meaning of the dreams isn't necessarily literal, and that they have to do with something other in my psyche (fears, loneliness, I don't know). So I imagine maybe your volcano dreams have something hidden in them as well, only you can figure that out. ^.^'
