Story
The meeting at Lookout Landing had united many throughout Hyrule in guiding the kingdom's future. The leaders from across the land had come together on what was once the Sacred Ground Ruins.
The place itself held much importance, both for the past and for the future of Hyrule. Many people of great import from across the land were already talking. Among them, Paya of the Sheikah and Riju of the Gerudo were talking animatedly, discussing some things they had in common. The duo had struck up a fast friendship over their ties to both Princess Zelda and the hero Link, as well as common tasks that came with leadership.
"...Honestly, it's just nice to talk to someone else who understands," Riju said, a smile on her face as she spoke to the Sheikah.
Paya returned the smile. "I feel exactly the same way. I admit I knew I had much to live up to with grandmother's legacy behind me, but I feel like you're more than honoring Cheiftain Urbosa's position with the Gerudo."
"My thanks, but I still have much work to do," Riju said before she began to think more. "Admittedly, it's nice to meet another leader closer in age to me. We've both had to shoulder much early on. Some days I do wonder what it would be like to live a more simple and carefree life."
Paya could see the wistful look in Riju's eyes. As important as it was to remain on task, Paya also knew the leaders were people beneath it all and they could only shoulder their burdens so long at a time. "Perhaps when things are more peaceful we can at least have some time to do what we want without worry. Although, I can imagine settling down with a special someone and just living sa normal life."
Riju nodded in agreement, her belly rumbling a little. She blushed before speaking. "Sorry, I guess I haven't eaten. If I could have that special someone by my side, some time near the oasis with some nice, juicy wildberries wouldn't be bad."
The two women who had become close friends had no idea, though, but they both were thinking of Link, each nursing their own crush on the blond hero.
Aside from their personal attraction to Link, his work as a hero had solved the vast majority of issues plaguing every bit of Hyrule. However, there was a problem with him having gone missing for the past few months. The absence of the hero only made them worry more, further feeding each woman's fantasies of life with him, but also making each wonder about proposing a search for him. Each of them, along with some others, knew his last location was near Zora's Domain, but that had been some time ago.
"Say, Riju, I was thinking, perhaps we should try to take that time off now if we can," Paya said, the usually meek woman pushing herself to be a bit more brave and speak up.
"Really? I could perhaps arrange something, but where would we go?" asked Riju, not quite sure what Paya had in mind.
"I was, well, thinking Zora's Domain, perhaps. A bit of good will to Prince Sidon, but otherwise perhaps we could look....at the sights!" All too quickly, Paya found herself twiddling her fingers, the shy woman in love with Master Link returning once more.
Riju didn't entirely take note of why Paya was being more bashful, but she did also know about the last known location of Link. She pondered the travel there, hoping that she might be able to help find Link. She imagined finding him in the watery domain, afraid his memories might have become lost again, with Riju only hoping that he had not forgotten her. "Perhaps that would be wise. We should propose it during the meeting, though I would be happy to make arrangements to scout ahead too."
The two women were in agreement, only for there to be the sound of creaking. It caused both of them to stop and turn to the source, with Purah nearby also being among the first to notice as the sound got closer and closer to the door.
The three women stared, until, finally, the door opened, revealing a figure that made them gasp.
The missing hero, Link, stood before them, pushing aside the double doors, and taking up the majority of the space. Both women and Purah, being the first to notice him were all in awe of just how different Link looked. The blond hero was recognizable. The same height as before, the same features, only rounder and larger.
Link's face was more chubby cheeked, the corpulent features of his face spherical and prominent, a nascent, cherry pink blush on his cheeks. It was clear that his face had gotten far softer, having grown from how much he must have consumed. Those same cheeks led down his neck, now full of rolls, each one thick and curved, layered one atop the other. His double chin jiggled just the faintest bit as the hero stood up straighter, his long locks brushing past his expansive flesh. His hair was done up in a bun, the same style he often had in stealth equipment.
Both Riju and Paya were still adjusting to his new, more vast visage, but they were just happy to see him. Their eyes continued to trace his figure, with them seeing his body on the way down. Both of his limbs, even in the ancient Zonai looking sleeves, were no less fat and flabby looking, huge sections of his body visible, especially near his upper arms and the joints of his elbows. His wobbling arms still held the doors open as a soft smile crept across his face, Link clearly overjoyed to see everyone.
Paya and Riju were only briefly stopped from observing the rest of him by that smile, but they soon saw his moobs, the pudgy chest of the hero round, flabby, and plentiful. Both of them found themselves stunned when they saw his nipples too, each feeling enticed by just how much of Link's body was on display, and how much went into that display.
His figure led down to his even grander belly, the protruding gut gigantic, gently cradled by a new article of clothing. Neither could identify it at a glance, but eventually they realized it was a mawashi, something both Sheikah and even Goron were familiar with given how much the two cultures knew about the art of sumo.
The massive mawashi was around his body, having gotten up around the middle of his belly. Between his rolls, the teal cloth was nestled, covering Link's navel while also hugging and accentuating the supple and sizable nature of his body. The way it squeezed his body's mass lightly and squished against him drew their eyes to his thighs too, each leg large and soft, Link's hips on the wider side while his thick limbs further emphasized the sheer size of his legs. Above that was his rear. Although the women couldn't see it from the angle, there was no doubt that Link's mawashi left it out in the open, just like the rest of his fleshy figure.
With teal wrappings around his lower legs, Link's only other garment outside of those and his mawashi was a Zonai necklace. Bare, broad, and blubbery, Link was quite the sight, but a welcome one to everyone, even despite their surprise.
Paya and Riju were unsure of what to say, but Purah was the first to react.
"Linky! There you are! We were all starting to get worried! You were gone so long without a word," Purah said while she approached him, clapping a hand on his shoulder as his body's fat rippled from the motion. "Whoa, you got so soft and wide! Don't tell me you went and did something crazy like eat an octorok!"
A bashful blush crossed the heavy protector of Hyrule's face, with him both glad for the greeting and mildly self-conscious of how much he had grown. However, Link's stomach had started to rumble, even more loudly than Riju's had not long ago. Before more could be said, a woman's voice called out.
"Link, I know you're excited, but you shouldn't rush off so quickly!" she called. "I swear, you never seem to be short on stamina." The others looked, seeing Yona the Zora, the green woman almost as girthy as Link and waving warmly to everyone. “Sorry we took so long. I hope no one was worried.”
“Oh, Yona, it’s been awhile. Wow, you and Linky both really have packed it on. I guess the food in Zora’s Domain must be something special!”
Yona only gave a spirited laugh. “More like the food we’ve been trying lately! You should see Sidon. I think he’s still on the way over sadly, but Link felt worried when he remembered he hadn’t contacted you all in so long.”
Link nodded his head vigorously, an apologetic look on his face before he told everyone he hadn’t meant to be a stranger.
“We’re just glad you’re okay...and so well fed,” Riju said to him, taking a long look at his body still.
“That reminds me, we had a suggestion to make on a sport that might bring people together, but that can wait until Sidon catches up.”
There was a light murmur all around as others took time to greet Link, as well as make sure Yona felt at ease too. Larger chairs had to be set aside, but another, even larger one had been set up for Sidon when he arrived, the blubbery and bulky zora prince being as wide as a whale.
In the minds of others, comparisons were drawn with King Dorephan, though Sidon wasn’t quite as immense as the Zora King. Yet, there was no denying that Link, Sidon, and the fiancee of the future ruler had all put on weight.
For both Paya and Riju, there was also a sense of wonder as the two of them looked at him and watched him eat, almost entirely gluttonous in the way he packed food away during the meeting. The same was true of both Sidon and Yona, the two of them taking large bites of their meals in between moments of weighing in on events around Hyrule.
For the Sheikah leader and Gerudo, though, there was something oddly enticing and captivating about the way Link continued to fill his belly. As the blond man continued to stuff himself silly, Yona, who took a break from her own eating, decided to speak, noticing how both Riju and Paya gawked at Link’s figure.
“I assume the two of you must have questions. I admit the lot of us have gotten a fair bit rounder,” Yona said, still fairly full and feeling jovial.
“Just...a few,” Paya admitted quietly. “We had been missing Master Link since he was gone.”
“Yes, we feared something had befallen him,” Riju added.
“To be fair, Link was lost for a time,” Yona said before watching Link eat a number of extra large meaty rice balls. The big, soft belly of the hero was out while his eyes sparkled and his motuh watered, him taking large bites out of the meal. Yona decided to continue explaining while Link ate. “As he told us, he was exploring lost ruins and came across a number of curious ancient texts and statues.”
“Of what sort?” Purah asked, now curious too as she looked at Yona.
“We’re unsure, but most of them depict an ancient martial art known as sumo,” Yona said before she looked to Link, asking for his Purah Pad.
Soon, Link took a moment from his eating in order to show the depictions, one showing a past hero sumo wrestling Gorons. Others depicted both larger versions of the hero and several others in sumo rings, competing when they weren’t shown talking over meals.
“You know, now that I think on it, I do remember talk from some of the older gorons about a sumo tradition,” Yunobo mentioned, scratching his head as he looked at it.
“I’m sure similar were mentioned by Sheikah elders too,” Paya commented. “Though I suppose it is something of a lost art.”
“Yes, the records at least indicate a Hero of Twilight also mastered such a sport, at least insofar as defeating seasoned goron warriors, but the art form was in its nascent state. It underwent a renaissance and new theory and methods were introduced in the time after the Hero of Twilight and by those inspired by his stories. Ordonian Ram style was rather popular as well as Goron Boulder style, but other cultures innovated.”
Link, once again, nodded, showing off some different photos he had taken of different types of people engaging in sumo.
Purah took a moment to adjust her glasses. “Whoa, there’s so many! Well, I guess since Ancient and Zonai tech was all the rage it got easy to overlook other stuff. Those are some inventive sumo stances...Wait, were some of them watching Hinoxes?”
“It’s how the Raging Hinox style was made,” Yona said. “Brutish, but effective in many ways. In fact-”
Paya, between looking at Link and drinking in his more rotund figure, was also starting to observe that Yona, Link, and Sidon weren’t the only ones who had become more plump. Staring, she saw Yona’s attendants were all big bodied themselves. All of the Zora appeared to be large and soft, their every steps heavy, making their fat, tender bodies ripple. Their large cheeks added a layer of cuteness to their serious and polite manners as they continued to lay down food before Sidon, Yona, and Link. Every so often, Purah would see their mouths water and the occasional flicker of desire when sumptuous and sweet looking dishes passed by them, but they served diligently while Link and the betrothed Zora continued to feast between times.
Paya only became aware that Yona stopped talking when she started to scarf down some roasted porgies. The dishes large and filling, but she at them with abandon, her hunger deep and intense as she filled up. Link was just as ravenous and happy in his feasting, the hero stuffing himself silly, a rosy blush on his cheek while he savored each bite and started to let off little moans of delight. Paya started to feel enamored the more she saw him, only for Yona to look at Paya, catching her off guard.
“I see...certain aspects of sumo have garnered your attention, Paya,” she said playfully.
Most the others thought little of it, but Riju was the only other one to take note, a brief hint of jealousy on her own expression as she folded her arms.
“I do think there are...um...certain fascinating things about it,” Paya said, trying her hardest to keep her eyes off of Link.
The hero only turned to look to the others, a smile on his face while he was oblivious to everything going on. The hero did feel the need to stand, despite being full from such a robust meal. He then looked at Yona, asking if she would like him to show some of what he learned after he rested some.
“Of course! I think you’d be the best at showing everyone a hands on technique. I can try to help with the demonstration if Sidon doesn’t want to.”
Sidon looked at Yona, giving a hearty laugh after another bite of food. “I don’t think I’d mind seeing you both go. I’m still feeling hungry, if I’m honest.”
“Eat your fill, my dear. I’ll take a moment to prepare myself as well.” Yona then turned to her attendants, asking for them to go prepare the circle.
As the attendants made their way, Link began to walk outside, taking a little time to also ready himself. Anticipation and excitement had come over him as he prepared his large, but mighty body for engaging in the sport of sumo. He could tell the others weren’t all convinced, but he was still happy to share his new passion.
The hero still remembered how he had gotten Sidon and Yona into it after sharing ,the pair taking to it and all of them growing closer while they grew larger and more talented at the sport of sumo. He had heard Yona talk about how it could be used to bring people together, much like how it had been before in the eras between heroes. Turning his head to look at Sidon, Link saw how happily the large Zora glutted himself, becoming a much more plump prince.
Link remembered the first time he had seen that enthusiasm from Sidon, back when he had first tried Mucktorock Sushi that Link had prepared for him and Yona. The two had been apprehensive, but it had been a dish Link crafted and came to love during his training, their love for the rare delicacy also apparently helped to ignite the same passion Link had for the sport in some way. The blond hero rationalized it as them opening up to new ideas, but he was just happy to share with his friends. It always fired him up, especially around the nights of Blood Moons, but those nights were always a blur for some reason...Even so, Link had the moment he was in, and soon his friends would see a passion he had for fun rather than for survival and times of danger.
Once the circle was ready, Link stepped inside, readying his stance while Yona went in and did the same. The pair threw salt into the ring, all as part of a Sheikah cleansing ritual that had been incorporated into the art. Link and Yona each stomped, shaking the ground as everyone looked onward.
“Wow, you really do have this down perfectly,” Riju said, realizing how coordinated the two were in the sport. There was something admirable about the level of discipline that went into it.
“We did spend months studying and helping to integrate the sport into Zora’s Domain as a regular activity,” Yona said, her pride barely hidden. She then gestured to her attendants. “Our attendants all chose to become competitors, and some are already offering exhibitions across the land. I’m just hoping that other places might do the same...but first, we should begin our demonstration.”
Shortly after, Yona’s polite air disappeared, replaced by a fierce, competitive energy and excitement. Both Riju and Paya reacted with surprise, watching as Link matched that very same energy.
A second passed, the lingering tension in the air becoming overwhelming and intense. Link and Yona locked eyes, confidence and anticipation interlocking before the both of them, too, spring into action.
In a blur of bulky bodies heralded by thunderous stomps, both of them soon locked fingers just as they locked eyes, their grimaces becoming grins, making their fat cheeks and jowls jiggle while their bodies wobbled from the force.
Everyone watched, each of them in different mindsets. Tulin and Yunobo were more captivated by the spectacle of power, while Sidon watched between bites, just glad to see Link and Yona exercising.
Purah adjusted her glasses, taking in the sight. “Wow, Yona must be pretty strong. She’s keeping up with Linky really easily.”
“I’m not sure about easily, but they are of comparable strength,” Riju said, seeing just how carefully they fought. The chieftain of the Gerudo found herself utterly captivated by the way the two vied for the upper hand, their large, powerful bodies meeting. Their arms wrapping around one another’s folds and even their bellies meeting. It stirred something in Riju she couldn’t exactly place. She found her eyes especially on Link, but more than admiring his plentiful physique there was something invigorating about the contest of strength.
Link and Yona's clash continued, the pair of them showing off their physical prowess. It was apparent that the two of them were each very familiar with their own bodies and how to use them. The two of them weren't able to hold back from displaying their skill. Even though it was merely meant to be an exhibition, in truth it was the two of them also putting everything they had learned to the test.
The Hylian hero's innate athleticism only made it easier for him to press the advantage. Aside from his adventurous history, he had been practicing sumo for far longer, he knew just how to push Yona to the edge of the ring, his mighty, massive figure flush against hers, their flesh meeting.
Yona closed her eyes and dug in her heels, doing all she could to plant herself down. The Zora was far from done, ready to push back when Link slowed down.
From the sidelines, the others watched, with Paya and Riju still the most attentive among those who had gathered. The two women who were the most smitten with Link were enthused for different reasons. While he sheer passion Link had for sumo was coming across clearly, Paya only was interested in seeing Link's raw strength and athleticism, while Riju did enjoy Link's warrior spirit. In different ways, each appreciated what he did, though both could feel their nascent interest in his large body growing more.
There was also a strange sense of jealousy that both women felt. It was true that the both of them respected Yona, but each wanted to be the one who was up against Link's body. While that desire was of a different sort in their fantasies, they still couldn't help but wonder how soft and warm his belly might feel, or how he might look from up close.
Each of them paid the utmost attention to the blond hero's portly physique, every curve and crease of his corpulent body dedicated to their memories, and how intensely he put effort into using his body.
No detail was too small for their attention, and each step Link put in brought Yona closer and closer to the edge. There was a deep, burning fire in his blue eyes, the thrill of almost winning coming nearer.
Yona was only barely able to avoid coming to the edge of the circle, managing to toss Link aside using the Ordon Ram style throw, Link rolling with it now that the two were so close to the edge. It had gone from a losing battle to a near equal chance for each to win. All it would come down to was a decisive move.
For a few seconds, each of them stood there, neither willing to make the first move until, finally Yona moved in, her vast figure sprinting swiftly, her footsteps like thunder, the threat imminent.
Link was only able to judge just in time, bending his knees and thrusting his body out of the way in one leap, engaging in a perfect dodge.
To the hero, the world slowed to a crawl, long enough for him to lay down one strong slap. That single strike was enough to push Yona out of the ring, with her falling onto her bottom with a loud thud that shook the ground. Many nearby gasped in shock and awe, seeing what had transpired.
"Oh...seems I've lost again," Yona said, sighing. There was a little frustration in her voice, but she let it go, instead looking up at Link, the plump hero bending over, his fat arm outstretched to offer her a hand up. Yona quickly took it, smiling while Link helped to pull her back up to standing.
The two sumo wrestlers exchanged kind compliments, before Prince Sidon approached, all while onlookers clapped at the display, while Link's other friends murmured amongst themselves.
"You did well, darling. I could tell you and Link were having a far more even bout," Sidon said.
"Yes, well, it's more reason for me to redouble my efforts," Yona said before looking at Link. "It looks like we may have a Sumo Champion across the regions...At least unless we all push ourselves."
Link gave her a warm smile, inviting the challenge, while remaining proud of all he had done.
"That was really something!" Purah said, walking near. "A show like that's really captivating."
"All the more reason we're trying to spread it to others," said Yona, only for Link to nod in agreement, his hands on his hips while he looked at everyone.
Purah looked to the others, still unconvinced. "As nice as it is, I'm not sure it could catch on with everyone."
"I know most of us Gorons still love the sport, even after all this time. Heck, some even still do it before a nice soak in the hot springs."
"Well, I think it's cool, but I'm not sure all of the Rito can, It'd make flying a lot harder for us."
"Oh, we Zora have had similar times adapting to swimming, but there are some who are more spectators. I'm sure that it will catch on with enough Rito if given the chance."
The hesitation still lingered with Purah and Tulin, while Link and Sidon looked at one another, wondering if they might need further convincing. Yona waited awhile, watching them deliberate.
The standstill was present for a time, but Riju was the first to see the flicker of sadness on Link's face, a desire to protect him overtaking her before she stepped forward, facing the others.
"I know it may not be to everyone's taste, but I believe Link and Yona's exhibition told us all we needed to hear." Riju then looked to Prince Sidon. "Your Highness, Zora's domain has adopted Sumo as a sport already, yes? How have the people liked it?"
"Oh, very nice. Those who participate have grown accustomed to their new figures. They've gained confidence, to say nothing of how the entertainment has brought people closer and given people something to enjoy in times of peace," Sidon said, his usual warmth clearly heard.
Riju gave him a smile, glad to hear from him. She then gestured to Link, standing close, but trying not to stare too long despite her desires. "We Gerudo were once thought to be little more than bandits, but over time we focused on the martial skill of our people and remade our culture. The culture of Hyrule doesn't need to be remade, but it does need to be repaired. After all of the hard work Link has done, much is better, but people need something to look forward to so they do not look to the past unnecessarily and fall into despair. I think we should at least try this sport, as it could be something to unite our cultures since war has come to a close."
The others began to mutter to themselves, all while Link gave Riju an approving look. It was shortly after that Paya also joined, nervous, but clearing her throat, speaking with grace while she stood nearby to Riju.
"Lady Riju is right. We can do our best to give the people something to smile about, the same way that Master Link has for us. Besides, sumo has ties to some of our people already. Now it can be shared by all."
The two women stood there, looking to the others, while Yona clapped quietly, but politely at their speech, Link joining in as well.
"Well said, both of you. I can tell already the infectious cheer that comes from sumo has reached you both!" Sidon said with his usual blithe cheer.
"I think it wouldn't hurt. I'll at least ask the other Gorons," Yunobo said.
"Yeah, if the people like it, they'll get involved on their own," Tulin added.
Purah looked at them before thinking. "Well, you do have a point...Maybe one more exhibition for all the different people might be able to convince others."
"Oh? Did you have something in mind?" Yona asked, already excited as she approached Purah.
"I do, but we will need more people. At least one from every group to help promote. We could bring all the same energy from earlier to one more performance!" Purah said, liking the idea the more she spoke about it.
"I think that's splendid, and we may just have willing participants from both the Sheikah and the Gerudo as it is."
Both Riju and Paya realized that Yona was looking at them, her eyes starry and bright.
“Us? Both women exclaimed at once.
"Yes, the way you each spoke out, I feel like you would each do far better than any other newcomer," the zora said with zeal
"Yeah, you two would also make an impression," Purah said. "Think about it, people would gather if their leaders were participating, and it'd be a great way to gauge interest."
"Aunt Purah, that's...that is to say, I'm not sure I have the prowess to, er...fight effectively at such a size,"
"My concerns are similar. Even in a time of peace I must keep myself in shape for...traditional combat for the Gerudo," said Riju quickly.
Purah, though, pouted, her cheeks puffing. "Come on, you two did all that talk. If you want it to happen I can at least organize getting the word out, but you should follow through!"
"I was more...praising the idea," Riju muttered under her breath.
"As was I," mumbled Paya quickly.
"But the two of you would be perfect..." Yona said, her tone forlorn and almost disappointed.
"Can't you try? Even for a time?" Sidon asked both Riju and Purah, joining Yona in the plea
The two were about to speak, only for Link to join in, thanking each of them. Mysteriously, a crimson glow flashed in his bright, blue eyes. Passion and power shining bright past his sincerity and kindness.
It was as if he was looking deep into each one's soul. There was a charm in it, something that comforted them, but also something that stirred another emotion deep within.
This was punctuated when Link reached out with both hands, grasping each of their palms gently, but firmly. Both Riju and Paya blushed deeply, so distracted by Link's touch that they didn't feel the extra effect. Instead, the pair of them were soon becoming further enthralled, the idea of helping and joining in the sumo life overwhelming as they regained their senses.
"Well, if Master Link is so confident in us...I suppose we can be confident in ourselves," Paya said.
"Yes, just for the exhibition, at least," Riju said, slowly coming around despite some lingering hesitation.
Link smiled, unable to keep from hugging them both, his arms spread wide and holding to them tightly. Both women felt themselves blush further, sinking into his warm, soft body before they each rested their heads on his shoulders.
After quite some time, both Paya and Riju found themselves swayed by Link's encouragement
Each woman was given her own copy of Way of the Sumo, the three part primer, and given time to train.
Both Paya and Riju were hesitant at first, but it seemed like things sped along rather quickly, helped in no small part by Link also coming to each of them on and off during his travels.
Purah's various machines helped to spread the news far and wide, while there was also help from the Zora using waterways in order to also spread word. While that was less of a problem in the Gerudo Desert, word still managed to get there via Rito and a few traveling Gorons who also carried word.
Each of the leaders found herself quickly surrounded by a number of willing and eager assistants, their people already taking to the idea of the sumo match and how each would be able to use a style like the hero of legend.
Link's presence around each also helped them to get a better idea of the necessary diet, as well as giving each woman an opportunity to spend a month with him, eating and training while he lingered.
Riju found that the Gerudo women were willing to bend the traditions in Gerudo Town in order to let Link work properly. Riju couldn't help but feel jealous when women began to swoon over him, some impressed by his heft and might, especially when the more muscular Gerudo attempted sumo without proper training, only learning the basics and falling to Link easily.
The combination of admiration for his style and wanting a Gerudo to properly challenge Link led to the women also encouraging Riju more when Link was away.
It led to Riju eating plenty of food, from gourmet meat seared to perfection to perfectly spiced dishes cooked to make the high calorie foods more appealing. Even without all the prodding, though, Riju found herself enjoying the shared meals with Link and closeness, him often using his big, soft body to guide her, his doughy hands on her perfectly tanned figure, helping her get into position and to practice her movements. Riju found herself inspired by Link’s movements, but added inspiration came from the movements of the sand seals. How effortlessly they traveled on the surface of sand despite their bodies, and how she would need to be just as swift even with her growing size. Part of that also meant more eating as well.
It took hard work, but over time Riju grew much more comfortable with her growth. Eating her fill each day became easier as time passed. Delicious though the meals were, she also had to focus more heavily on her stomach being able to store more. Dense layers of fat began to form her bronze figure, even as the Gerudo also set into making sumo attire according to specifications in the scrolls and input from Link.
As she ate a meat and veggie skewer off her pile from about a dozen, she felt both embarrassed and enticed by how Link made suggestions on her mawashi. The attire had the same black and gold coloring with hints of blue, befitting her usual wear. Of course, it would look different once she was wearing them. In the mean time all she could do was continue to practice and eat, as well as enjoy the time she spent with Link.
Each day she practiced with Link was a day closer to Riju challenging him, as well as developing her own bespoke style. Building on the foundations Link had showed her, along with inspiration from the sand seals, she had come up with a way to quickly and rapidly move her weight around in short bursts, the quaking movements more like thunder than lightning, but no less impressive. Each of her titanic thighs shook with every movement, her massive mawashi digging into her belly fat and barely holding up her drooping paunch. All the same, her belly met with Link's own while the two vied for power and victory.
There was a feeling of share excitement while Link and Riju both grappled, their eyes meeting again. Riju found herself smiling and getting more excited, the way each of them pushed the other to their limit. Riju put her all into it, even managing to overpower Link for a moment, until he managed to redirect her efforts, letting her go forward and out of the ring by mistake, her stumbling a couple steps outside the sand circle.
"Ah...Closer that time, but not close enough," Riju said sadly, the rotund sumo warrior brushing a lock of crimson hair aside. She had largely accepted her new shape and size, though it was still an adjustment. The next thing she felt was Link's comforting hand on her shoulder, trying to help her feel more at ease.
"Thank you," she said to Link before she decided to take a seat. In about a week's time Link would be leaving to meet with Paya in order to also train with her.
Riju knew it would only be fair for Paya to also get time to attain Link's expertise, but she would feel his absence, and a desire to continue to grow with him.
Riju found herself blushing when Link sat next to her, both of them staring beyond the Gerudo Desert sands up to the sky, a shooting star in the distance.
Riju saw Link staring ahead for awhile, until he turned his gaze to her.
"These nights are less cold since I've grown...but I think having you here makes them nicer too," Riju said to him gently.
Link gave her a nod and a warm smile, looking at her.
Riju wasn't sure if he was admiring her body or her increased prowess, but it barely mattered. She loved having time with him, and would have time still for him to share that love once she won the sumo exhibition.
After Link's time with Riju and the Gerudo came to a close, he eventually headed off for Kakariko village. Once he was there, he found that they had already started to adjust the place for the sumo festivities.
Paya was already pensive when Link arrived, especially due to how word had spread. The naturally bashful Shiekah was still coming to terms with her more generous figure. A lot of the preparation training had been done in efforts to be ready for Link. In the back of her mind, she still saw him as Master Link, the hero who had saved the land and even stolen her heart.
She couldn't deny that those feelings were still strong, even if she had to put on a more responsible face. Standing tall, the fattened village leader found herself a little bashful about how big she had grown. Aside from a number of round rolls piled atop one another at her sides, creating layers upon layers of soft love handles,
Paya's largest assets were her lower half. Her blubbery bottom, that bore her infamous birthmark, was further punctuated by larger, wider hips and thighs. Although her lower half was quite plentiful in its own way, that wasn't to say that her breasts hadn't grown to be plentiful, the light armor the Sheikah tribe wore was on her top to further support her bust, the eye of the tribe on the center of the cloth, leaving her plump arms exposed while she walked through town, a gust of wind gracing her tubby figure and her cheeks red from embarrassment.
As she approached the center of town, she saw Link was there, the big blond hero waving to her. Part of Paya could almost swear he had gained even more weight from his time in the desert, but she realized she'd also be spending plenty of time with him, in close physical contact, the two of them sparring and training.
The mere thought sent her into a tizzy, excitement coming over her. When she saw Link look at her, she felt like a startled deer, frozen before fleeing could even come to mind. She was starting to swoon, her lack of balance barely noticed in time by Link who rushed over as fast as his flabby body would allow.
Paya found herself scooped up in Link's arms, with her startled by how quickly he had managed to steady her. She felt comfortable against his soft, steady arms, the way he held her flush against her body. Timidly, she opened her eyes and saw Link staring down at her, concern and care clear on his face.
She looked up into his big, sky blue eyes and felt her cheeks grow hot, her face reddening as she realized how close she was to Master Link. Instead of fainting, though, she remained awake, even finding that she was growing more comfortable. Their fat, soft bodies touching tenderly, with her treasuring the moment all the more. It lasted perhaps a dozen seconds, but to Paya it felt like a lifetime. She started to gather her bearings after a little, using her fat limbs to steady herself and stand up next to Link. She wasn't quite as wide as him, but she had grown, and had developed a finer appreciation for his full, fattened figure.
"Master Link, you made it at last," Paya said, a softness to her tone.
Link gave her a nod before asking if she was alright.
"I'm fine, I was just worried that I might not get enough time to really train with you."
With an almost apologetic look, Link promised her he would make efforts to make up for lost time. Once he was sure she was steady, Link asked if she was hungry.
"Um, well, I haven't eaten yet," Paya replied, only to see a certain fire in Link's eyes, as if a passion had been lit. She was surprised to see him soon move towards the nearest stove he could find, motioning for her to come with him. "Of course, just a moment!"
Paya soon followed, seeing Link had already gotten out a selection of goods. The plump sumo taking his time to decide what to make for Paya.
She watched him with rapt attention, realizing she was actually far hungrier than she had anticipated, her mouth already watering while she looked at the fresh foods that Link would soon bring together in order to make something tasty for her.
Sitting down, folding her legs, Paya decided to watch Link cook, how deftly his arms moved, how considered things were as he made a veritable feast for her. She watched as Link started by serving her a few specially stuffed rice balls. Each one had lightly golden crisped rice, each one exuding a delectable scent, tempting her to enjoy it.
Paya also saw Link give her fresh chopsticks, ready for use. She held them between her sausage sized fingers, seeing encouragement from him to eat. The typically meek Sheikah needed no second bidding before she finally took the morsel, eating it and feeling herself give way to pure bliss. She had eaten heavy, hearty dishes to grow as large as she had...but none were made with the care Link displayed, nor the love. For a moment, Paya forgot how she wasn't a natural glutton, or her discomfort with her size and attire. All she knew was her love for Master Link was deepening, along with her wish to impress him.
Bite after bite, Paya stuffed herself. Enjoying each taste of the rice balls more than the last. Similarly, Paya couldn't help but desire more of it, and she saw Link was making much more, using his vast expertise to offer her more. It was so much that Paya was taken aback, but it was a plentiful, but private meal just for them.
Where Link knew combat and persistence would draw Riju's love of sumo out, he also knew that intricacies and care would be what helped move Paya, and he was more than happy at the idea of sharing his own love of both with her.
After the two had enjoyed their food together and digested, they went about training. Paya was used to tradition and routine from when she was still caring for her family's heirloom. While she had come a long way from those days, she also was conscious of the fact that on a skill level she was still far from her grandmother and others. Yet, knowing her responsibilities, Paya wouldn't let up on learning.
Taking time, she showed Link how she had mastered all of the basics from the scrolls, and even came to learn how to practically use them. Link was impressed by her start, but wanted to see more of Paya's style come into play.
At first, Paya was unsure of what to do to create her own style. She had spent most of her time studying others or fulfilling her duties, but so little time finding her own voice or style. It was something that perplexed her even as she continued to spar with Link. Though she wasn't easily dispatched with, she also provided no true challenge, her mastery of the basics leaving her predictable, if moderately formidable.
It took a fair while before Paya came to an answer. Although she had no outward techniques of her own, Link asked her if she had another ability she would want to incorporate into her style.
It took awhile before Paya decided to adopt a style where she was able to pick up on counters. Her understanding of the core abilities giving her a fair idea of both what to expect and how to counter. All she had to do was both remain wary and know the perfect measure.
There was a sense of anticipation when she and Link went to practice, the plus sized Sheikah and chief of Kakariko having long gotten used to the sight of Link. Although it stirred her heart still, she was able to suppress her feelings during the competition, more focused on making the most of her skills. With both his strength and experience, Link was a handful, Paya finding directly confronting him almost impossible, but she gained an eye for the moves he favored and how to pre-empt him based upon how he got into his stance or the subtle motions of his body. Even with his fat ajiggling to distract her, she was able to usually grapple him before he had time to move or even deflect one of his slaps and respond with one of her own, stumbling him.
Link was often encouraging when she managed such clean strikes, but it only went so far. Still, by the time the end of the training period came, Paya was a competent opponent, and almost ready for the competition.
"Phew...I have no idea how you do it, Master Link...but I think I'm ready,"
Link reassured her, telling her she was more than ready, complimenting her Observant Eye of Truth style sumo.
"'Observant Eye of Truth'?" Paya repeated, flustered. "I suppose it does have association with my clan, but I never really set out with it as inspiration for my style..."
Link agreed, but also encouraged her by reminding her that her honest and grounded style did have a way of seeing past enemy moves.
"I suppose you have a point," Paya said before sighing deeply, nerves coming up. It was night then, and looking up she saw the moon, high and mostly lit. There was a hint that a blood moon might rise, but not that night, not yet. Instead there was calm while Link made them both more food, with Paya eating happily. "Ah...part of me wishes this could go on forever. These little moments before and after practice always set my heart at ease."
Link, hearing her, could only offer her more food in the future and more visits if she wished, but reminded her they had a competition coming up.
"I know, Master Link...but I hope you will keep your word after," she said, her heart aflutter as she looked at the heavyset hero.
Link gave a small laugh between bites before promising. His eyes were firmly on her, a sweet gaze illuminated by serene moonlight.
At last, the promised day came, and the crowd had gathered. Those brought from on far and nearby,, especially those of the Sheikah and Gerudo.
Almost all of Gerudo Town and Kakariko village respectively had come, filling the stands on the sumo tournament area, with the Zora's own prince Sidon and his beloved taking seats of honor in their own section.
Link, though, stood near the ring, where both Paya and Riju gathered, each a fully trained sumo warrior in her own right. From high above, several flying contraptions were illuminating the stage, some outfitted with camera technology courtesy of Purah and Robbie, leading to everyone even from far back being able to see.
That made Paya quiver some as she neared the stage, the white haired, wide beauty tense.
Opposite of her, trying to be encouraging, was Riju, who was eating a special skewer made by Link, who was also chowing down before the festivities could begin.
"This is so...intimidating," Paya whispered, just loud enough, now more aware of how little she had on, and how many people could see her. Would others still respect her as a leader? Sidon, Riju, and Link still commanded some authority, so perhaps...
"Lady Paya, the crowd is ecstatic! Do not fret!" Riju insisted between bites, gusto and excitement taking her. Her appetite for food was being quelled, and the desire for competition sharpening, but she could not sate it if her friend was displeased.
Feeling both Riju and Link's eyes on her, Paya could only respond with scared honesty...It had been one thing to train in her village with Master Link, but this was so different. "This is just so mortifying...and my outfit is so tight." Paya grasped at her mawashi, realizing she might have eaten even more than she remembered, reflecting on when the Mawashi was far looser on her body. "Lady Riju, how can you eat at a time like this?"
Riju only let out a small laugh, her and Link exchanging glances. There was a playfulness, but also a tender honesty. "Link believes in sumo and in us!" Her words were blunt, but reminded Paya both how important the sport was in the plan to unite Hyrule and how much praise Link had for her, too. "We can't let everyone down!"
Realizing the moment had come, Paya sighed, letting out an exhale. Everyone else present might have been...much...for her, but she trusted and cared about Riju and the others, and for Master Link. She saw Link waddle near, another skewer in hand, dark purple colored food there, tempting her with both the scent and the promise of comfort food to bury her nascent worries. "...I feel at peach when I'm with my friends..." she said, more to herself than to the two nearest to her. Finally she reached out, her hand brushing Link's own. "Perhaps just a few bites will calm me..."
Taking it, Paya found both Link and Riju walking near, each one patting her on the shoulder as she ate. They could only console one another so much before everyone else, but they had all trained hard and their moment of competition was coming. All three had grown larger through sumo, but now it was clear they were growing nearer as their over-sized ordeal was heading both into its main struggle and a surprise swerve that even the hero didn't realize he was bringing forth...
