Meh... For those watching me solely for my Sonic's New Venture stories, don't expect too much from me soon... not until I hang around my friends again. XD They're what helped me write it... Anyway, this is a scene from the upcoming chapter, if I ever write it that is. XD Basically, Amy sends Tails to go get Shadow's inhibitor rings when Shadow's condition takes a turn for the worst, and Cream asks if she can come too. Tails reluctantly agrees but tells her to fly away if anything happens, playfully pulling on her ears. Well, after Cheese falling out of the Tornado and a brief hello to Sonic, they arrive and they find the rings. Unfortunately, one of Eggman's robots was reactivated as well, and captured Cheese as a way to supply power to itself. Cheese hid behind Tails when it tried to get her too, as pictured above, and Tails says he'll protect her. Well, one Tornado-mech battle later, Tails gets a laser to the arm. He pulls the Chaos Emerald from the Tornado and leaves a message to Sonic using the communicator in the Inhibitor rings, asking that Sonic take care of Cream, and that he's going to fight the robot to get Cheese back. After that, he uses Chaos Control, which drains a lot more energy out of him than he thought it would ("Sonic and Shadow make it look so easy!" he complains). Sonic, after getting the message, dashes to his little buddy's location, muttering, "When did my little bro turn into Shadow?" Well, I say well again, Sonic gets knocked out and Tails is left with only a remote control, and one arm. That's right, our little buddy loses an arm. Shoot me now, I have a reason. Tails then grabs the remote and fires a laser from what energy remains in the Tornado, and he grabs Cheese from the robot with only a few moments before it explodes. Tails then flies Cheese to a safe distance and goes to fly Sonic away, but he doesn't have the strength. He sighs and looks at the Emerald in Sonic's hand and takes it, using Chaos Control once more to send his best friend to where he'd left Cheese, but that took all the energy he had left and he collapsed, getting caught in the explosion. Cream awakens Sonic with some herbs and tells Sonic that Tails is still there. Sonic looks at the Emerald and growls, giving Cream the Inhibitor rings, telling her to take them to Amy. He uses Chaos Control to get to Tails faster than he could if he ran, to find Tails under cover of a small shield that Tails had designed just recently. Tails weakly looks up at Sonic, revealing why he did what he did. "I... wanted to be... a hero like you, Sonic..." before passing out. Sonic pauses, glancing away, tears forming in his eyes before he picks Tails up, using Chaos Control to take them both to the hospital. ...Yes, this is a dark chapter, but it leads up to a fan character story of mine. In fact, that's the whole reason I started writing Sonic's New Venture. XD More on that later, but for now, enjoy this summary.
