Seriously, you don't just start the hardest quest ever just to be beaten down to death within like, 5 minutes of starting. THERE HAS TO BE HOPE.

Still, his sword....thing...beam.....was pretty amazing. Kinda reminded me of a scene in Gundam 00's movie. Just burst through with a large beam.

Yeah, that part was really cool! That whole fight scene was so intense! I was almost shaking XD I love great anime series that can create such powerful emotions in the viewer~

I think that's something we overlook sometimes when we view an anime and pick on the details too much. Maybe it's too predictable, or isn't up to our standards. We miss the subtle emotional undertones.
People are bashing SAO because it seems stupid that Kazuto's in a fairy MMO and he's being "idiotic" and getting sidetracked. They aren't considering how he is emotionally. He's doing things and saying things that are in his character, and things he's familiar with after being in a video game for 2 damn years. Not to mention his brash determination when it comes to saving Asuna, ignoring previous information (such as the difficulty of the dome, or the invisible barrier around the Great Tree). Again, all part of his character. He's an emotionally and mentally damaged person who now has a chance of seeing his loved one, and is obviously doing stupid things in order to do that. And yet people bash him and the show in turn.
Pretty disappointing, considering what the show can teach people.

Yeah I know! I understand that people just watch the show for 'entertainment' but I think that's what comedy and other light hearted anime are for. I enjoy shows like this because, while yes it is entertaining, it also teaches the audience so many things and is able to effect you emotionally. That is why anime is so different then cartoons. Anime has such complex plots and characters that require a mature brain to figure out. After being with the character and seeing how they change and evolve over the series you become emotionally attached to them and begin to feel what they are feeling. It's almost like stepping into another persons shoes. I feel like I have learnt so much from anime and manga because of this.
But yeah, it's so sad that people don't really understand this show and bash it. I feel sad because it is such a great anime but doesn't have that big of a following yet. Hopefully in a couple months it will get some more fans and that it might get another season >.<

And it's not a perfect anime, no anime is perfect. Considering it's an adaption of a light novel, it's doing its job quite well.
If it can get Gun Gale online and Alicialization arcs for another season, that'd be awesome.

Course, maybe that's pushing it. Decent anime can last for only 20-30 something episodes and can call it a day. Why push it so much? It can be fine on it's own.

Yeah, but there are many great anime that can go beyond 50 episodes and can still be amazing. So as long as it remains good I think they should continue making episodes. I just hate it when after like 50 episodes the show takes a big turn for the worse because they think that just because they have a big following they can do a crappy job and keep their fans. But anyways, I hope that SAO doesn't end after this next episode and that they continue the story because I really love the plot and the characters. Also they have done an amazing job on animating (especially the fight scenes) and in finding well suited voice actors.

the voice acting is amazing, and the fight scenes are amazingly animated. they definitely took attention to detail.
