Description
Today marks the 200 year anniversary of the premiere of Beethoven’s ninth ( and last) symphony, so thought I would do a feature ink artwork on it, ( it took me hours to copy that score due to image copyright , but I think It looks not too bad ) I shall be viewing a live stream in Vienna today where I shall be wearing my tailcoat and opera pumps…😎 still have my 30 something waist line whooo can’t wait for that Feuertrunken part. Going to be wild party 😜 🍻🍺
Fun fact the poet who wrote the original lyrics for ode to joy in 1785 , Friedrich Schiller has the same birthday as me
Also I was just thinking ( when I’m I not) there are five documents I that I live by
1) the magna carter 1215 where no one, king or common man is above the law
2) The declaration of Arbroath 1320 where no nation can force its will, law, or greed upon another
3) A treatise of human nature by D. Hume 1739 where sensation meets reflection
4) The declaration of US Independence 1776 where there is life liberty and the pursuit of happiness
5) Beethovens 9th symphony 1824 where despite personal misery I still fight so I may sing with joy
don’t think I could live with out any one of them…..
