When the world had started to fall apart, and the diversion of the rivers had cut them off from the mainlands, the newly formed island nation state of Rhyghune drew on their strengths. They were already fisher-people, and now they built and perfected a boating industry that served their nation as well as Simii Orie and the mainland. They were the only ones other than the daajinn who had any question or clue as to whether the activities of the waters was natural or manufactured. The island had a lot to offer, and that made them natural prey for those that chose power over diplomacy.
