Nice shot, although I will offer a few critiques! It is a bit blurry, perhaps speed it up or if shooting in raw, remember to sharpen after! Also the whites are incredible blown out, next time take a step to one side and cut that out. At that distance you can blur out the trees just fine and that looks better then a white shiny mass bleeding into her shoulders.

Thank you for the info....and when shooting on the tracks..we have to be quick....but I totally agree about the whites.....we were shooting at high noon...it was so bright that day....

Ugh, I have tried that before too and shooting at high noon is the worst! Sometimes thats all you get though and you just deal accordingly. In this situation I would say you made the best of a horrible lighting moment. Thats for sure!

Get a large aperture lens? For your camera you could pick up a Canon 50mm f1.8 or f1.4 depending on your budget. The more expensive your lens, the less that your aperture shine through will look like a pentagon, and more like a circle. Thats the simple facts, I wont go huge into detail.
