Description Aaaah I wanted to do something really good for 's darkspeeds.deviantart.com/jour… , but actually low amount of time has killed all my ideas ;w; I'm so sorry about this. ( "Learn at the university, thay said. It will be fun, thay said.")
I wanted to make this traditional, but I couldn't find time to buy paper... So here we go!Β  Digitaly 'papercraft'.

Wooooow this looks amazing! How'd you get the papercraft effect? You use anything in particular for it? I love how it turned out. It looks really fun ^^

Hi! Normaly - I would do it traditional way ( the most fun! ) but had no time to do so.
Digitaly I'm using plain, one-color layers in photoshop and then I'm adding simple layer shadow in blending options. The most important thing is to have additional layer without shadow to cover all the parts where whe parts should 'blend together' ( like in Amy's front spikes, not sure how should I name them )

Wow, think you'd ever do a livestream using that style? It'd be awesome to see how it's done up close ^^

I would really like to, but with my old and slow computer it's impossible ;w; In every stream I see less than 1FPS and people watching me - even less ;(

I know you wanted to do this in traditional art, but I think the papercraft may have actually been a blessing in disguise.Β  I love how it turned out and it gives the picture so much energy and a very unique look.

I love how the group is assembled here and the individual poses and expressions are great!Β  I'm glad this made it into the project's book.

Thank you for letting us feature your pictures in our gallery at the S-S-S-S-S-Squad !Β  If you're interested in our latest contest, you can check it out right here .

Yeah, if I did it tradition I might have killed the expressions. But actually cutting paper is a real fun so I kind of regret I didn't had more free time ;w;

I want to learn more about how you made this .-. I really want to do same thing on my own characters.. xD

a very creative compostion on wave c: Love their poses <3

RoyalThebat In reply to sheezy93 [2014-01-13 16:27:39 +0000 UTC]

It was really easy All you need is photoshop and many, many layers. You can draw or fill the vectors in one color in one layer (e.x. Amy's hand on one layer and her bracelet on another layer) and in blending options for all the layers you must turn the 'drop shadow' on. That's all

Clever, clever, clever! A cut-out inspired artwork! And you were going to do the real thing?! Crazy man.

Thank you very much for taking the time to construct and illustrate this even when you had university to worry about. No need for apology, all I can give is thanks once again for contributing something to the project. It's going in the book for sure Ailish - love how you drew Blaze and her friends like this! *thumbs up* Β
