I've only read a couple issues of Icon, but I don't remember the anger between Raquel and her father, or the details of how her sister died. Were those your own ideas?
You did change it so Raquel's 'friends' didn't know about Icon's powers, though, I see.

The tweaks to her backstory were more of a way for me to make Raquel my own in a way so I could get a good handle on how to write this version of Raquel.

Ted and Raquel is actually something I was playing with for quite a while and a couple others mentioned they liked the idea of Ted and Raquel (including this VOX Box's sponsor) so that is what I built the VOX Box around.
