Woo! I'm so proud of the color I did for the water~
So this is the picture I had to submit last week (cutting it pretty close to deadline) for Sophie-Chan's Fanart Contest. Because she received so many artworks, she's expanded the placing, so there will be a top 10 picture for each character, top 10 group pictures, and the ones she chooses as top 10 and the other 4 voted on through facebook. I don't care much for the prizes, but I would really love to place at least somewhere in the contest. I'm sure there is a lot of fierce competition, as I could see from the last one. So we'll see.Hope you guys like it~ I chose Moria because she likes sailing, adventure, and discovering new fish species, so right when I read that description and image already popped into my head. Don't forget to support Sophie-Chan. She is an inspiration to many other mangaka's including myself, who is having her manga published at this very moment~ Like myself and other mangaka's, we hope to one day be at that turning point in our lives when our stories get picked up too!
Character and clothing belongs to Sophie-Chan. I do not own the original character, I just drew the picture.
The boat is an original drawing that was taken from many references that I found on google with some creative adjusting to try and fit Sophie-Chan's style.

Well it was all one person's perspective which was the author Sophie-Chan herself. I'm sure it would have taken a loooooot of time, but eventually she managed to get it down to top 40, then had a voting poll on facebook and came out with her top 10 and the top 4.

Hehehehe, yeah. Personally if I saw that many entries for fanart of my characters, I'd be downright flattered. But yeah that would be a lot to sort through, but worth it to see everyone's artstyles

One problem I have with this, is the harsh black outlines of the birds. Could have been done in navy blue to fit in with the tones of sea and sky. Just a little thing to remember for your next piece. But well done sweet socks!
